Flag-Flying Veteran Gets Chance to Keep His Home

Remember George Andres, the Marine veteran whose homeowners association is trying to take his house because he dares to fly Old Glory on a flagpole? A judge sided with Florida's attorney general Thursday and delayed foreclosure until the 4th District Court of Appeal hears the case.


Attorney General Charlie Crist said flying the American flag "is a precious right that ought to be protected."

"The idea that an ex-Marine wouldn't be able to fly the American flag obviously is wrong," Crist said.

Andres expressed relief at the temporary victory. "I think it's absolutely fantastic," he said. "It was a worry."

Well Hog I guess some people never will smell the coffee because their heads are to far up their A**es.. Who do they think made it so they could live in this country and have the things they have. It sure was those types of People.. Hooraaghh to the People who have kept this nation safe and a place where can have choices..I fly the Flag all the Time because One Of My Sons is still in and defending this country Pitty on the person who tries to tell me I can't do it.. I already went through that with this Pee dink'n little town I live in. I told them as long as My Son was keeping our country safe and was and or could be in danger doing it "That Da** Flag will Fly and Not one of you will change that.. They have left me alone since then.. I for One am DANG Proud to have served and to have a Son who is serving this Nation, and it gives us the right more than some to stick up for our rights.. I know I even have to let the Draft-Dodgers and the Chicken S**** have thier say also. LMAO.. But I really don't care I gave my time because I believed in the right to have a free choice and Voice for EVERY ONE not just certain people.. TinMan SSGT Ret.

You guys outside of Florida have no idea how much press this case has gotten!

Where were every news orginization on this?!? After 9-11 you would've thought that any self-respecting judge would throw this out of court(his privilage!!)and be done with this type of judicial log-jamming, but noooooo! Let's put this guy's home and his finiancial future on the block. I hope this guy can leagally go after and recoup his lost monetary stake in this case!

Chuck Norris was on Shawn Hannitys(sp) TV show last night throwing his support behind Arnold for Governor of Cali.They touched on this story and I guess the guy won the battle but has to pay legal fees upwards of $25,000 it was either Hannity or Norris that has set up a foundation to help out.Both have contributed $ and I believe Chuck said he had already given $5000 personally and would give more if need be.All hail Chuck Norris! I've always liked the guy even if he does make some cheesy damned movies...LOL

Even though the gigar brand, him and Jim Belushi used to own sucks. Yuck Lone Wolf. But the flag should be Legal to fly anywhere, the property owner see's fit. Unless those who don't want it there, are willing to go fight for their country themselves, before protesting.

this is such BS by the association, the judge, and these maniacs. this is a bunch of little people using the little power of their association to drive someone up the wall.

i know this kind of **** goes on all the time, but when a face is put on the poor guy who is being victimized, it pisses me off.

i'd like to see a check from some of the hollywood liberal movie people sent to help him. i am going to email the article and send it where i can, starting with fox news and cnn.

I agree that this to total BS I cannot beleive that our precious tax dollars are wasted in an attempt to control, dishonor or furl the symbol of freedom in which have an undeniable right to fly. I only hope that someday those people, if needed, receive a life saving courtesy or a life altering favor by a person dressed in a uniform with our flag proudly being worn. It is amazing how many people will ask us to not fly the flag, burn it, whatever, but when they are in a pinch they begin foxhole praying with absolute temporary sincerity. Anyone asking me to take down or resrict the flight of my flag can kiss my AIRBORNE A$$
