All,

I am now 90 pounds lighter over 9 weeks. Yaaahhoooo!!! I am so excited about the weight loss! More good news is that I've added steak to my menu without any problems.

I'm still weak as a kitten though. I've been down sick with the flu or some other virus since Tuesday. I'm starting to get over it, but just feel so weak. I'll be happy when I gain a little strength and stamina.

Also, the Mrs. is having the same surgery on Nov. 5th. She doesn't have near the amount of weight that I had to loose, but just enough to warrant the surgery. By this time next year, we'll be two hotties kicking up our shoes on the weekends!!!

Congrats Matt!!

I lost 110 pounds last year. I went from a size 48 waist to a 30 waist. I know I feel a lot better. I was fat for several years. I'm 41 and I feel like I am 28. NO JOKE. I started looking good and the wife got scared and she went from a size 18 to a size five. Look at pic post tim's better half. Nice to see here that way again. I can do things I never thought I would do again. I am very happy for you.

Way to go Matt! Hope you feel better soon. Best wishes to your wife as well. I hadn't met her, but she must be pretty special to put up with you (Just Kidding). Whenever we get together again, it's on me to celebrate.

Wat to go Matt,
Congrats, on the steak. A friend of mine had the surgery, and he couldn't handle red meat, for quite some time. Me I can't do without red meat, for 24 hours, or my body goes into shock.

Thanks for the support guys! You really are the best!

Dave,

Everyone responds to this surgery differently. If your friend goes to the support group he/she will find out how different people are. One lady in our SG went home from the hospital and had a fillet minon as her celebratory meal on day 14. Had I smelled steak on day 14 I would have thrown up!

Anyway, I truly believe that I am reacting much better to this surgery than the norm. I just hope my wife has a similiar reaction. I know she won't lose as fast as I am, it is a proven fact that men lose weight faster than women, but I hope she takes to food as well as or better than I did right after sugery. I'm a little worried for her as we go into the holiday seasons, but ecstatic that she is having it and getting it over with as soon as she could. Next Christmas will be a special celebration for us. I'll get to buy all kinds of goodies for me, oops I mean my wife ;-)

Later,
Matt

Matt
Take extra special care of yourself while you're sick.
Your immune system is probably still weakened from the surgery. Don't take it for granted. See your doc if you don't start improving in 5-7 days.
Congratulations and good luck to the wife.
