Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people.

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who
call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that we have
ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and call it Pluralism.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will and to openly ask these things in the name of Your Son,
the living Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively.

The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he
has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God."

We need more people like that minister.

Where are all those people that oppose prayer in our buildings, when some Islam said a ramalama ding dong prayer in the Whitehouse 2days ago? It clearly seems to me, any Islam prayer spewed out is ok. But don’t start talking about that Jesus..

So you might not be one for religion, but you sure seem to have posted something good about it. Thank you for the message... it uplifted my day.

Of the 9 "We have" statements...

I agree with 3.
I opt for the "have called it" side on 4.
I am undecided on 2.

I'm such a bad American/Christian/person.

I agree with a few of those and while I don't agree with all of them, I applaud the tenacity of anyone who has the courage to say what others often think.

Nuts...I can't count...there are 10 statements. Make that "disagree" with 5.

Interesting that everyone here can only agree with some of these points. Seems to be pervasive these days that most of us subscribe to the "cafeteria" style of ethics and morals. We pick and choose to best fit our particular situation.

I'm loving the self-righteousness in here! I've seen countless posts of explicit shots of women, and the very men amen-ing this post hoot at them. Guess y'all aren't much for the condemnation of pornography!

There's a lot of unholy lust for pornography in the hearts of Cbid conservatives. Take a look at any post with a woman in it. Always cracks me up. The reaction is like those two guys in Wierd Science when Kelly LeBrock (was that her name?) shows up.

Who's being self righteous?
The posts reflect a mixed-bag of sentiment towards the issues at hand.

And isn't it OK to be human? I can be against drug use, for instance, even if I have used drugs in the past.
Or I can agree with posted speed limits despite a heavy foot.
And pornography does little good for the nation, yet I won't look away when confronted with a nice set of ta-ta's.

We're only human here, and we have human faults. That does not mean we are being self-righteous.

Once they pull the {god) out of this America, the doors would swing wide open, then the end of America would be here, im sure it will happen, don’t know when, this is coming from an independent so im sure no one will agree with me, but here is goes.

Today’s republican is the democrat of twenty or so years ago, the democrats have lost their minds, to simply put it. It has been hijacked by the “liberals”

I don’t care if you believe in god or not, but if you let the crazy left get rid of it, it will be the end of the America. The gates would crash down, and the hell would begin.

All great civilizations end sometime, I think ours would end over god. It will collapse us from the inside as it already started to do.

Liberals love to hijack and twist things for their own gain. I have a few “black” war buddies I see from time to time, they have seen the black civil rights movement hijacked by the “gays, islams etc” and for the most part their pissed. As I cant blame them. All of them believe in a god too.

This country is starting to wake up slowly, I just hope it isn’t to late.

Also the voiceless better start to voice out, more like what that minister did, or you might end up hiding in your closet with a shotgun and a cross. lol

Next step would be getting rid of the big offensive symbols on your churches, then the churches themselves. They would be shut out by the arm of the new law, or burned to the ground by the “liberals” who would be the “republicans” of that time (say 100years from now) regardless you would live in a society that frowns down onto any church and or belief.

But this would take many, many years. Not in our lifetimes.

But who knows, I was just thinking a little into the future, but everything could be different in a happy type of way. I guess
