I was thinking about putting together a lottery type contest giving the winner one of my humidors (you have seen them on the picture post now and then).Like the California lottery, you pick your own numbers along with a mega number, and then go by the winning numbers thru there lottery. That way it's not like I have to pick the numbers out of a hat, and everyone will know the winning numbers thru there web site. Who ever gets the most numbers win, and if any ties, we will keep playing (the people who tied) until there is a winner. Nothing in it for me, just thought that would be a nice thing too do and sounds kinda fun. Let me know what you think, as it take me awhile to craft one. I'm thinking about Honduras Mahogany or Walnut.

Which lottery were you thinking of linking this to?

If you did a pick 3 (000-999), the odds of winning are 1000 to 1, so you could presume that someone would win pretty quickly. If 200 people join the Humi pool then it would conceivable take 5 days for someone to win.

If you did the California fantasy 5 (pick 5 out of 39 numbers) the odds are 39!/34!*5! or 575757 to 1. If 200 people join the Humi pool then it would conceivable take 2,878 days for someone to win.

If you were to pick the first winner who gets 4/5 correct, the odds go to (39!/34!*5!)/((5!/4!*1!)*(34!/33!*1!)) or 3387 to one. Again, this could be over too fast (17 days).

Point being, be careful, or no one will win, or it will be over too fast.

Scott,
I've been waiting to send you my numbers, but I have no idea how many to send you??? I keep getting e-mails from you but haven't seen any rules??? I received one e-mail saying you were working on the rules, but never saw one giving your official rules, or how many numbers to pick.

I'm very sorry for holding up the whole group, but don't want to do something dumb.

^ Keith, no problum, I will post it here sence for some reason something is not allowing it to show up in you mail;

All entries (there are 69 of you) will pick 5 numbers from 1 thru 47.
All entries will also pick 1 Mega number from 1 thru 27

Numbers _ _ _ _ _ Mega _

We will play by elimination.

Matching a minimum of three (3) numbers will win. If there is a tie with three (3) numbers or higher, those tying will play a second round (with new numbers if they choose) until there is a winner. Obviously if someone matches 4,5 or all 6, the highest number win. (If someone does match all 6, he should have played the real lottery and won 7 million instead of a Humidor, LOL)

If no one matches three (3) numbers, we all play again.

We will try it this way at first, if it seems this way starts to drag on (as the odds are 1 in 185) I will change it and try an easier way for you to win.

So all entries, please respond to this e-mail along with:

1) Your first five (5) numbers 1 thru 47
2) Your one (1) Mega number 1 thru 27
3) Your e-mail address
4) Your C-bid Name
5) Your First and Last Name (don't want any duplicates)

I will tell you the date of the drawing of numbers about a week before it takes place so that you can check the lottery web site (http://www.calottery.com/) if your not in California.

DO NOT go by any lottery dates until I give the date to you. I don't want someone looking at the lottery numbers thinking they won when in fact it was the wrong date…

I will ask for your address when we have a winner. (You might have to pay the shipping)

Please note that it takes me around 6 weeks to craft a humidor (ordering materials, drying time and all). So it looks like someone will receive an early Holiday Present.

Thanks to all and Good Luck

· If for any unlikely reason, someone starts to complain or scrutinize, I will shut it down.
· This is something I'm doing for fun and not profit. (Profit, hell I'm taking a loss)
· This is not binding by playing.
· If I pass away before the Humidor if finished, you cannot come after my family for it.
(But I don't plan on passing away soon)

This is, IMO, hands down, the best contest I've ever seen on this or any other cigar BB ...

Very imaginative and an absolutely terrific prize ... congrats, SP

Good Luck to all...And it is my pleasure to offer this, I hope who ever wins will cherish it and maybe if they have a child, will pass it down (minus the cigars). It is my honor to do this, and I'm proud to be apart of a great group of people........Thank you to all......
