Today I purchased 3 boxes of cigars and got a lb of mayorga coffee and a 6 pack Villone (sp?) sampler. All for the cheap price of $166! I bought a box of Hoyo De Monterrey DC's (very nummy)for $63, a box of H. Upmann #100 robusto's for $58, and a box of Mayorga robusto's for $41. Now if I were to buy those boxes on here, I would most likely pay twice that amount if not three times that amount. I know other people have been bitching about it, but I just came to reality today. Yes, it is a bid site I understand that, but we have to be realistic. Does anyone else agree w/ me? If not, then please tell me to shut up and go play baseball on my PS2! lol. Oh yeah, DON'T FORGET ABOUT THEM RED SOX! Davey Cone is pitchin today.

Fenway, what I don't understand by your post...is did you buy them elsewhere like at another outlet? And would that outlet have two initials _ & _, because that sounds like their prices. Charlie PS Cigars International, they own CB has similar prices.

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec is much better than any baseball game on the PS2 :)

Fenway, there's overbidding going on for sure, but there are still a lot of good deals. Maybe the overbidders will help CB make more $ and keep the deals coming. In the meantime, the more knowledgable buyers will have to go elsewhere from time to time - not too hard to know where the Maorga coffee deal is). For me, this is fun and gives a great chance to "smoke around" with the 5-packs and samplers.

Of course everyone knows where the Mayorga coffee deal is, but I can't advertise for some other company on here. Very much makes sense. Anyways, I have fun buying cheap 5 packs of cigars from people I've never heard of! lol. And as far as GT3 goes...well I'm into my season right now, so GT3's gonna have to wait! lol. Btw, Boston's up 3-1 right now!

Boston won, despite Lowe giving a scare. I don't know why there is so much bitching about the prices. If you have a specific cigar that you need to buy immediately, then an auction site isn't the place to be anyway. Sure, you can get great deals elsewhere. In fact, I usually use competitors catalogs to gauge pricing when making a bid. I still do quite well price-wise here at CBid, I just don't win as often because of the increased traffic and higher prices. Oh, I know of other sites where you can get the Mayorga Coffee with any box of Mayorga Cigars...

This place reminds me when I was a kid going to a penny candy store. You buy everything you see and you get up to the counter and you don't have enought money.
There are a lot of new people bidding now and when that first credit card statement comes in and the wife
sees it! Well most of you know what I mean. High bids
are good now and than because I would hate to log in and find this site no longer here. RL Shrewsbury Ma.

ceo, that is a true statement about the wife catching a glimpse at the credit card bill! They sure don't undestand about "great deals" on cigars and usually follow with "why the hell do you need more cigars?" You guys that bitch about pricing don't need to bid if it gets too high! I don't! Charlie

Char, I see exactly what you're saying. The only thing that I'm upset about is the fact that I haven't bidded on a descent 5 pack or a box in a very long time b/c of the high bids. I don't know, I just wish that people would look to see how much they are retail wise and bid accordingly. Yes, that would be in a perfect world so I guess I'm just gonna have to suck it up and keep watching the Red Sox kick *parental discretion is advised*....lol

you guys that have wives that complain about the number of cigars amaze us (toby and I). yeserday she, toby and i, sat out back on the patio and unwrapped 20 boxes of those cigars that were on sale for 17 cents each, levanda, which i have smoked before in a 10 pack at $10.00 for the 10 pack. one of the reasons for the
5 pack auctions is to allow me to try different cigars. she helped me mix the pg and water and put a rather large humidifier together. the cigars were on the dry side and will take awhile to undry. every 2 or 3 months we go to vegas where she can buy cartons of cigarettes for about $10.00 a carton, so we get 15 or 20 cartons. perhaps that is why we have been married 38 years and we still like each other.

The point I was trying to make is that the NEW bidders to the site will calm down after the first
statement comes in and they see how much has been spent. The wife is only One factor. I've been tracking
this site since "98". It will calm down and OTHER NEW bidders will drive the prices up again. You have to know when and what to bid on.

I agree with Rick and CEO, as a newbie, I have found that this is an excellant place to try new things. I have found some good yard work sticks that I can get here regularly cheap. Prime example, Onyx Reserve (my new favorite), averaging $125+ a box based on the 5-pack bidding. Sadly, the uninformed don't come in here to read, so they will never know.

This is a great site for the first time cigar smoker.
You can buy as much or as little as one wants. 5 pack,
samplers, boxes. And over time he or she will find out
what is good and what is crap! One will buy a lot of crap before they find what they like or to find out the deal they thought was good turns into a waste of time and money. We have this board to inform the uninformed. Ask Questions about certain products. Ask questions about price before you place a bid. There are a lot of informitive people on this board.

The best thing to do(I'm giving away my secrets)is to bid early at a price you're comfortable with using auto bid. If you lose so what. I've bought alot of dog rockets but I have been smoking cigars for 25 years adn I never knew there were so many varieties out there. I get to try five sticks, even if they are more expensive than a box price. But i don't waste big money on boxes of cigars I don't end up liking. I try them by the fives and then buy them by the box if I like them. C.I. helped me save money in the long run by avoiding mispurchased mulch bin cigars.
