It's good to kinow they've got protection. Not sure it's a good idea to issue a challenge to these nerd nuts, tho.

I noticed it awhile back and I bid on it three times. I thought it was a safe, no wonder I never won. Now where the hell am I going to store all these hackers I bought? JonR

Been on many times and just noticed it prior to reading these threads. By the way, I am about one week new here, just won a couple of auctions, and am wondering how I pay. I went to find out and I can't seem to find a thing to read about paying. Can anyone enlighten a newbie on the methods?

AJ_CHICAGO Welcome aboard.. if you Won some Auctions then you signed up with CBid.. you would have used a credit card or debit card on your Initial sign-up???

you need to go to the main site and on the top left hand sign it will say user login.. there you can put in your handle and password and it will log you into your Profile Information/recent bids etc... also notice while your on there how you listed your shipping options...

Again Welcome Aboard and enjoy your Stay... also... better get yerself a large Humidor LMAO!!!!!!!

Hog, I've got a nice 350 count humi coming in the mail! I know that ain't big enough. I won three box auctions on Yahoo in the last week-plus (pretty good deals if I do say so, myself). A guy's gotta have initial "stock" for a new humi, ya know? Got plans for a coolerdor in the future. My wife is up in the bedroom polishing the shotgun! Does C-bid just automatically charge your card? I should have asked that question directly before. I found it a little disturbing that I couldn't find a thing about payment anywhere.

AJ_CHICAGO --- Welcome to the forums!

Yes, you will automatically be charged for every lot you buy (win) ... and you can have your shipments sent daily, or weekly. You set that preference when you go to 'Account Information' after you log in on the home page (upper left hand corner) ...

Weekly shipments will save you $$$ in shipping charges ...

Also, take a few minutes to read the 'Forum Rules & Conditions'. Our hosts prefer that we do not mention competing web sites on their forums ...

Also, click on the 'Help' tab ... all the info you are seeking is right there.

Thanks, Slim. I had already read "help". You will find that there is no section on "How to pay" and no FAQ. I re-read the rules and found the operative word to be "may", which would lead one to believe that an intelligent human being would make a subjective determination as to the use and intent of "objectionable things". I did not have any malicious or slanderous intent in using a competitor's name. I didn't even use it in a comparative way. I only used it in describing how I arrived at the point where a newbie already has a 350 count humidor on its way within three weeks of deciding to join the BOTL (may God rest my soul after my wife sees it). Cigarbid is a major partner in my humidor! This is America. Free trade and free speech are good things....so are good manners. I respect them all and hopefully exercise them all. Of course, my wife would probably disagree with some of that, but hey, what's life without a little indulgence here and there (and variety)? Well, gotta go hide the shotguns.

Congratulations AJ, you got your first "Slim Slap" out of the way early. I received mine early on too and it was just about as tame as yours. He's a great friend to this board and is always willing to lend a hand so ask away...

Just use the "All Messages", search feature first, if possible.

Welcome to the asylem.

AJ_CHICAGO --- you probably already saw this, but this is under 'How to Sign Up'

NOTE: Registration is FREE - there is no charge to your credit card for setting up an account. Bidding is also FREE - there is no charge to place a bid on any item. Your credit card will only be charged in the event you are the winning bidder.

BTW --- rules are rules, even if you had good intentions ... and admin will usually 'edit' out a competitors name ... ;^)

Also, this:

You only provide your name, address and credit card information once during registration, instead of every time you bid. This enables faster entry into the auction since you only have to input your bidding Username and Password.

AJ - welcome aboard. It's good crew here at the funny farm, so jump right in.

It's also good to see another person from Chicago - be sure to join in on some of the local herfs over the next few weeks/months. they're a great time.
