Friends,
Well, my wife Kande took a turn for the worse last evening and today. She was oozing/draining from her incision a fair amount last evening, but thankfully that stopped. The Dr. didn't seem to be too concerned about that though. It is fairly common to drain from your incision.
However; she has a fever since last evening and this evening it got up to 103.3. They ran some tests, took an x-ray, did a cat scan of her stomach and everything was just fine. He doesn't know the reason for the fever yet. They took a blood culture and should know
something within 48-72 hours. The fact that they do not know what is causing her temperature is a little worrisome for us. She started taking Tylenol this evening, hopefully that will help bring the fever down.
She is feeling really sore and was in more pain today than yesterday. I guess all that cleaning out of the scar tissue and adhesions is taking it's toll on her. The doctor had to spend an extra 2-21/2 hours cleaning out the scar tissue and adhesions. She is pretty swollen today as well. She had to curb her exercise and limit her walking to two laps per walk. They believe that she may have overdone it in the
beginning, so they are limiting the amount of exercise that she does until her fever breaks.
Good news is that Kande just called me and her fever is down to 99. Yahoo!!!! That is wonderful news. Now maybe I'll be able to get some sleep tonight before driving back up to the hospital in the morning.
Kande and I both appreciate your thoughts and prayers!
Matt
