]Apollo 13 Mission Commander James A. Lovell, Jr. on April 13, 1970 at 10:07:53pm, EST
"Houston, we've had a problem"

And, like Apollo 13, the team involved in the humidifier project has encountered a problem ... the good news is, our problem is not mission-critical or life threatening ...

The bad news is that I've learned in speaking with the owner of the company from whom the materials are being purchased, that an unexpected two week delay has been encountered. Half of the material has been back-logged and will not be available before that time ... and, he is going to wait for everything to be available before anything is shipped to me.

So, at the best, it will be the Tuesday or Wednesday following Labor Day before his shipment reaches me ... I will re-pack and ship to all of the participants in the group buy no later than the following Saturday. Everything will be shipped priority mail, and product should be in everyone's hands no later than Wed of the following week.

My sincere apologies for any inconvenience this development might have caused anyone.

If it's a secret, don't mention it. If it's not, tell us all about it.

I spoke a bit prematurely last week, but anticipate that within a week is accurate now ...

Hey Steve,

Sorry if I am starting to sound like a pest but do you have an ETA yet? I have the Coolidor ready, smokes sitting in it, but using water for humidification right now until I get the beads. Any idea? MK

Steve,

I was in no hurry in the beginning and I'm in no hurry now. Do what you have to do to get the job done and if there is any way that I can help let me know. Thanks again for taking the initiative to spearhead the effort. The only problem I have is, "cash my goddamn check!" It's been hanging out here forever! Actually just kidding. Do what you have to do.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Bill

Steve:

Thanks for all of your work in putting this together. Just a quick question: Do you have any information on the amount or weight of crystals needed and the corresponding amount of water for smaller humification needs less than one pound? Thanks again.

After reading the instructions that came with them, I decided that about 1/5 of a pound would be good for a regular desktop humi ... so, I set out the 3 containers I had lined up to use as humidifiers for my desktops and used a tablespoon to put a spoonful in each humidifier container, then two spoonsful in a bowl, one spoonful in each unit, two more in the bowl ... kept doing this 'til all was doled out ...

Adding water in the quantity they call for seemed like WAY less than enough, so I added more, a small bit at a time, until I saw that the beads were pretty well filled up ... snapped the lids onto the containers (I'd drilled a lot of holes in each of the lids), put the contents of the bowl back into the bag and carefully sealed it up, then put my new humidifiers in the humidors ... where they're extremely well

Got mine today, Steve. Probably would've arrived sooner, but I didn't update you on my new address. That's about as fast as the USPS forwarding system has ever operated, though.

Thanks for all of your efforts.

I actually wasn't sure if you got my check so I went ahead with PG all around. I'll probably save it 'til I get settled.

Yes. I just got it this morning. I'm working on it. Sounds fun. It's a bit far for me, though since I have to work at 5, but it sounds like a cool place.
