I'm definitely not an OU fan but they really did stink up the Big XII championship game !!

As far as the BCS goes, USC really got screwed on that deal as well !!

I'm a UCLA Bruin Alumni and hate USC with a passion, but I have to say the BCS is a joke. USC got screwed. Unless College football goes into a playoff scenario, no one will be satified. I think LSU, Oklahoma, and USC have every right to claim a spot in the Sugar Bowl, but I don't understand how a team can be ranked #1 on the AP poll and Coaches poll, but still not in the national title game.

Its a shame...., at least the BCS ends in 2005, and maybe we will get a playoff by then.

By the way, if you look at the Jeff Sagarin Rankings of the Computer polls, you will notice that it has Miami of Ohio ranked #3 above USC. Its a joke!

Choner I root for USC, we realy should get together and tell lies sometime. Yes SC got screwed but look at it this way. Maybe we can do away with the stupid BCS finally. And lmao at donutboy, They all set their schdule's years in advance. Auburn and the Irish heck they are usually pretty good aren't they? Did I see that LSU played a few D2 teams. if you go by strength of schdule what happens to agood team that you beat but then get's player hurt?? Just looking at it how do You win big then DROP to number 3 lmao. Settle it on the field boys it's the only way to go.
Smoke'em if Ya got'em and I know you do.

The BCS was a flawed concept from day one ... each year, there's been some 'tweaking' done to the BCS system in order to rectify some of the more apparent flaws ...

At root is the irrepairable flaw that is the BCS itself ... it has not done and will never do the job for which it was intended ... traditions that have endured the test of time have had to yeild to the BCS and NOTHING has been gained ...

IMO, the BCS should be scrapped immediately and all bowl games return to their long standing traditions ...

What bothers me is how the hell USC got to be #1 in the human polls. Just because they lost early as opposed to late and they lost a close one instead of by 28. Hell, if I was OU, I'd have slacked (vs. K State) just a little as well knowing the Natl Champ game was mine anyway. On top of that, USC lost to an unranked team while OU lost to #10. Also, OU dismantled #5 Texas.

I wish USC was #2 so they could get their asses handed to them by OU so all this crap would be settled.

But what the hell do I know?

This is all kind of humorous how the very thing that was implemented to help is now the source of so much controversy. I am an LSU fan by blood since that is where I was born and raised but attended UofA for sports medicine/engineering at UAB. I have my disagreements about it all too, but lets see what each brings to the field come New Years before we judge too heavily.

Billy, I agree with the pollsters not having the b@lls to put USC where it belongs, BUT it is not OU that should be #1. It is, without ANY doubt, LSU is the #1 team in the nation. I will grant you not far and away #1, but they do get the edge by virtue of winning their conference championship against #5 UGA.....USC didn't even have to play one, much less a top ranked team.
If OU and KState were to play this Saturday, OU would destroy them, but to be the #1 team, it has to TCB baby and they didn't.
Do realize that I am not saying LSU would beat the Sooners, rather I am saying as close as it is, LSU should get the nod.
Right or wrong, the two best teams in the nation will be playing in New Orleans come Jan. 4th. USC is a great team, but they have not played anybody close to who OU and LSU have had to play week in and week out.

Also, remember 12-1 (SEC and Big 12) holds more weight than 11-1 (Pac-10).

Billy, Billy, Billy, Sonny, Sonny, Sonny, Where do we start. KS Did playe them and THEY DID take them completly apart. OU is getting worse as the season goes on. Lets see USC has lost one game, in TRIPLE OVERTIME, ON THE ROAD! Played 6 bowl bound teams, played NO D 2 teams, and have just taken it to anybody they have played. Sorry LSU and OU are good but no way they could contain USC "O" or get move on USC D. Boy's USC is No. 1 because the coaches and writers have seenthem all play and they know it's true. the best part is that IF OU could have won somehow they would have HAD to played USC and since THEY lost they don't have to lamo. So enjoy your little sugar bowl they real action is out west in the sunshine. Sides Michgan is gonna be tough game :) smoke'em if you got'em and I know you do!

USC has been the best team for the past two years, and that's why they are being awarded the #1 spot on both polls.

I remember two years ago when Nebraska got clobbered by Colorado at the end of the season but still got to go to the national championship game over Oregon. Nebraska was underserving of that spot, and got clobbered by Miami in the National Championship Game. Oregon on the other hand went on to easily beat Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl.

Invade the BCS!!!

This bites.

Go Trojans. I hope the polls still rank them #1 after they pummel the Wolverines.

gorob, with your logic, Oregon State was therefore BETTER than LSU and OU b/c they moved the ball up and down the field on USC?! I don't think so!

And, are you so sure AlL the coaches got to see USC play (this is a trick question)?
No, is the correct answer. Most of them DID NOT see USC play!

BTW, we shall now take D2 Western Illinios out of the schedule and replace them with.....#5 GEORGIA (SEC Championship)! That will bring us both to 11-1!

The facts:

USC:
Auburn (7-5)
BYU (4-8)
Hawaii (8-5)

ASU (6-6)

Being a K-State fan I was damn glad to see them not only give OU a ass-whipping but was happy with them "running up the score" on a mediocre Nebraska team at Lincoln. They have also been "screwed" with the BCS formula in past years. And contrary to another comment on this thread, I believe if OU and K-State played again this weekend it would be a good, close game.

Unfortunately we are stuck with the BCS this year and no better plan appears to have any chance of being implemented anytime soon. The money and politics in college sports is as bad as it is in Washington.
