USAHOG,
You are right, about, both parties being to blame. We can't blame the Rupublicans, or Democrats, to exclusian of the other. While the Republicans tend to spend more on defense, their military spending tends to be rearming, and for ordinance, in other words, pay back the defense industry for all the contributions. Not the individual troops. The Democrats, tend to cut spending on the military, so there is a boom bust cycle, within the military industrial complex. This is bad for our economy, but not individual investors, who can use tha pattern to by and sell stocks. The Democrats tend to spend our money, on internal infrastructure, such as highway construction, rather than the military. But Both parties tend to neglect our troops. Unfortunately, the troops are left out to dry, by both parties, and therefore, it is our responsability, to write to congress, both houses, and the president, and point out the individual cases, let them know our priorities, lie with the returning troops. Well thats enough of a rant, first thing in the morning.

P.S. If you see an example of a local soldier, who has fallen through the cracks, fought for his country, only to be denied the GI Bill, etc. Help them write a letter to your representative in Congress, and their senator, and bring their office up to speed on their case. You'll be amazed what you can acomplish. Save a copy of your letter, for 30 days, if no response, send it to the editorial section of your local paper. This seems to get politicians off high center.
