Illegal Immigrant Amnesty

I just heard Michael Savage say that Bush is signing an Executive Order Wednesday that will grant an estimated 20 million illegal immigrants amnesty. I wish someone here who claims to be a true patriot would rationally explain why this is the right thing to do for America. I know it is the "right thing" to do for Mexico.

Before anyone accuses me of Bush bashing and starts a diversion from the original question, know this. I am not a "democrat, liberal, communist, etc. I am a free thinking independent who does not blindly support any political party or political organ or movement.

It blows my mind but I know there are many out there that will support this action just because they voted for Bush. That is the most shallow reason to support such action that I can imagine.

Not to mention people to bus your table, wash the dishes, mow your lawn, clean your hotel room, wash your car, pick your fruit and vegetables, clean the restrooms...

Who do you think is going to do that stuff--high school kids?!?!

No,ole GW loses major points for this one.I didn't like the last one and I don't like this one. That said, the alternatives as far as our current President goes, was way too SCARY to even think about...LOL

Yeah and why not high school students? Thats who held the majority of those jobs in the past.Tell me,whats the incentive to stop comming here ILLEGALLY? Why are we rewarding law breakers? You want to increase the number of legal immigrants fine, but don't reward those that come here illegally.

I'm totally against the amnesty, the drivers' license, etc. It's got nothing to do with where they're from, what color they are, or any of the other silly excuses. There's a way to get into this country legally and get all the benefits legally. If you don't do it that way, you're breaking the law.

I just want to know who's going to pick my fruit, because I'm on my third teenager. I *know* they're not going to do it.

I'm a bush supporter and voted for him. But I don't like this amnesty thing one bit.

I agree with jjohnson. Why are we rewarding something that is illegal.

Michael Savage is the only one with the balls to really talk about this. It goes to show you something about the D’s the R’s and the so called news channels.

I posted this topic a few months ago and nobody wanted to talk about it, it’s like the elephant in the living room. I think it’s a very big deal, it can destroy this country. One would think this would be in the news everyday.

The savage poll says: 93% say NO

I am a major Bushman (whoops) and I believe this was the wrong thing for him to do! Send them back to wherever they came from!

There is no downside for him. He gets the Latino vote. Those who were going to vote for him will probably not be dissuaded over this.

WASHINGTON DC -- Just before the holidays, 36 conservative members of the U.S. House signed onto a letter that chastised U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge for comments made at a Miami town hall meeting regarding possible amnesty for illegal aliens in the United States.

Hey cigarrick, my American born friend cannot get work doing sheetrock, work he has done for a living for 20 years, because illegal immigrants will work for very little$. I guess as long as they are not putting you out of work you do not give a damn what happens to your fellow American.

On more thing my fellow Americans, Bush would have done this over 2 years ago if it were not for 911. I repeat I am not a liberal, democrat, Bush-basher or blah, blah etc. I am a free thinking American who owes no politician any allegance. My allegance is to America! And if a democrat or any other party in the White House had done the same, I would feel the same.

FYI If you'll recall, President Clinton did the same thing, and i think in his 1st term too. However, after thinking about this for a while, and thinking about it from a presidential point of view. I think that giving amnesty to the illegals does a few good things for the country and me (being a first term pres.) First it adds really cheap labor to the work force, like it or hate it businesses love cheap labor which gives them more money to do more business with. Second, there is a sudden surge in the tax base, because all of these people have been workning and living here tax free. Third, just think how much it would cost to round up all the illegals, I'm sure it's a lot of money. Fouth, I have 20 million new friends and potential voters.

I'm not saying I'm for this type of action, frankly I'm agin it. But if I were the president it would be awfully appealing.

gto- you said

I don't pretend to support this decision, but I heard the same thing when Reagan did the same thing in the 80's. We'll get over it, and it'll clear a big backlog of Immigration cases :/

Thom- Thanks for reminding me, I forgot Slick Willie did it too!

and way back when they let the cubans in but not the cigar's !! what's up with that? i'd rather have the cigar......been to miami? havanamiami is more like it. racist ?? well , i guess we all have some little corner of it in us. but when companies shut down to go south of the border that hurts.....now i guess they figure let the workers come up here so we can keep our companies ! cut your nose off to spite your face !! no hoblae espaniol ? better learn , don't you want your new boss to understand you? and the whole deal about restricting illegals from drivers licenses ? don't they want them to drive to work ? isn't that unconstitutional ? "ramblings of a madman" ? darn right i'm mad. come in legally or go home ! no green cards? well , here's the bus to the border! there's some countries that enforce thier borders better to where illegals don't dare try to "slip-in" . since there's no threat of being in trouble if they come across why stop ? a day trip ? it sure is , work the day get paid and take the money home that night......to Mexico ! think about that ! sorry , just rattling off because it does make me mad their just going to screw the people that were born here over someone that "stole" in ! hey they've had a hard life...let them in ! charity begins at home they say....fix what's wrong here first ! and that'll take awhile !!!!
