Boy, how true that phrase rings at the moment!

Happy New Year guys!

I'm well on my way to recovery...even had my first cigar in 6 weeks this past Sunday...an AF Hemingway Classic...mmm-mmm-mmm!!!

I'm heading out for my 3rd frickin' post-op today (aside from the Chiropractic visits and tests)...once I got over the allergic reaction to the morphine, and the infection from who knows what, and the excruciating pain from my leg pain has now eased up...I'm hoping that I'll be driving and active and on top of things so to speak any day now! Just waiting for the 'heads up' from the ol' gyno...LOL! *GRIN*

The MRI showed that I have a congenital birth defect called a conjoined nerve. Apparently I have a sciatica nerve that is attached to others or maybe two sciatica nerves...that's why the pain from my lower lumbar was so intense into my leg.

4 weeks in bed not being able to move is not my ideal way of being prostrate or supine!

Anyway, since I am not up to date on all of your ups and downs (insert innuendo counter here), I hope that all is well with each of you. I hope to be coming more often...here to cigarbid, that is!

Take care and thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, calls, e-mails, cards, bombs, and concerns!

YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

XOXO,

Marla

Great to have you back, Marla

Obviously your holiday season was rough but I hope you at least had some nice moments. Was down in SoCal a couple weeks back and had a nice time but a bit dissapointed with the weather and the lack of places to enjoy a cigar. However I know I'll have better luck next time.

It's snowing today up here in Seattle. Just finished a well aged Padron 300 and coffee and am about to take the kids out sledding. Look me up if you ever get up here and I'll get our Pac NW Cbid group together for a herf in your honor.

DB (mlkearns at Yahoo dot com)

Very nice to have you back.

Welcome back Marla,
Your presence on the boards, has been sorely missed, though maybe not quite a sore as your back. Hopefully you will be 100% in no time.

That sounds like some pain you've been in. Hope that it has all subsided. That type of prolonged pain can be quite agonizing. Wish you well and keep posting.

I too have a conjoined nerve at T5 and T6. And that happened to be the same disk that slipped and ruptured. Now I have permanant nerve damage in my low back to go with my dainbrammage. 12 months of recovery and rehab. Not fun at all. But the meds were good! Anyway, I can sympathize with that portion of your troubles, but alas dont have a clue about the others!

Glad your feeling better an nice to see you back.

my mama had all kinds of trouble with the nerves in her back... talk about "conjoined." she was apparently supposed to have been twins at some point. she ended up with a double set of nerves in her lower back. many back surgeries and much pain, but they finally got things sorted out well enough. anyway, again, feel bettah soon!
