I'm glad I'm not alone with this observation, me thinks the bidding is gettin' a little insane... a few hours after posting and it seems as if many lots exceed the max of a few months ago.... 'tis a shame

Do you think we should tell the idiots that just overbid the pinar 1958 5 packs to $31.00 that you can buy them in a retail store for 5.50 to 6 bucks a stick....

I quit bidding a month ago and it's only gotten worse. $77 for a 5 pack of VSG's?? And RS from SA is still a moron.

PD, I believe that is the proper response to overbidders. Identify them in the hopes they will realize who they are. Then you can give him his stupid sign.

i won't mention the cigars i am bidding on because i don't want you guys to know, you're libel to get in on my bidding. i just had 47 cigars delivered. $10.45 for shipping. total average $2.69 each cigar. i promise you all these are excellent cigars. the 75 cent cigars i bought offset the cost of the + $3.00. the overbidders are probably new to cigars or they live in a town that doesn't have a decent supply. much as i love vegas, they get $5.00 for a fuente curleyhead, and those hamilton or sinatra cigars go for $14.00. needless to say i bring more than enough with me, and i always bring a box of whatever i can buy for less than $20.00 a box and give them to the clerk that checks me in and he sells them for a lot. guess who gets preferential treatment? the cigarettes that toby smokes are $10.00 a carton instead of the $30.00 odd dollars they get in whittier, brea, or the san fernando valley. as they said in music man "you got to know the territory."

Oh now COME ON...Are YOU KIDDING ME??!!..Te-Amos??!....Ugh!...The Santa Rosa Torps are an EXCELLENT CI...uh...oh...uh...yeah you are definitely right!...What a piece of crap those Santa Rosas are...I would definitely bid much much higher for those Te-Amos anyday!...They're not worth more than sixty...no...forty cents per stick, if that...In fact, I would be kind enough for those that are unlucky enough to actually own these putrid brown sticks to offer my residence as a place to dispose of them properly (stealing a bit from Cliff...U don't mind, do ya bud?..LOL)..So send those horrible Santa Rosas to me and I will bury them in my compost pile in my yard...LOL

Thank you rookie, you saved me. Those putrid sticks were fouling up my house. I needed to get rid of them before they destroyed my family. I smoked one, came back in the house, and was greeted with a boot to the head. The horrendous stank that comes off that stick cannot be healthy. I feel sorry for anyone bidding one those dung heeps.

You can still get some great buys if you don't go nuts and bid on everything all the time! I picked off a box of 5 Vegas Torpedos for $32 and that is one hell of a deal by any standard! Be patient and don't bid if it gets too damn high. Know what you are bidding on! Charlie

hey char. I got a box of v vegas torps for 21.00 before the bidding wars began. I agree prices are high now but I'm still getting boxes at relatively reasonable prices on cbid. Just wait the cigar boom is over...remember?

I've been treating this site as a way to try 5-packs and samplers for a reasonable price. Also picked up a couple of lighters. Don't think I've overbid, but also am only winning about 10%. If you've got several things shipping, you can bid a little higher. But the first thing I won was a 5 pack of LGC hermosos for $17 delivered. Can't beat that.

That Rookie's one good guy. Always looking out for others. I have no doubt he'll do just as he says he'll do. Send him your SR Torps; he'll make sure you never see them again.

I am an average guy. Thanks to Rookie and his life saving measures I am able to write this testimony. One day I was minding my own business about to have a cigar. Just as I was lighting my first Santa Rosa Torpedo (which I thought would be good) this spastic man came running up and slapped the cigar out of my face. Before I was able to use my kung fu grip on him, he explained that the Santa Rosa brand was made by the devil and is a vile nasty poor substitute for a cigar. I thanked him graciously. And as he walked away in his spiked heels and tiara, and told mini mean, she would be lucky to walk in the shoes of a man like that. Thank you Rookie, thank you.

sorry, correcting myself. I won 2 5-packs of Hermosos delivered for $22. That's cheaper than the best box price.

... now I know why 'Wanyburger' left ... and I don't blame him. It seems like people here like to whine, cry and run things into the ground ...

I don't see why people get bent out of shape when someone posts about high bidding. Ya it's old, but so what. This is a BB. Get over it. That said, pick yer price, use auto bid, and if you don't get what you want, try again next time.

ARGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! Quit whining over the over bidders. That is why they call it an auction for pete's sake. This is the oldest most reoccurring post there is. And no! I am not one that overbids!

Subject: Matches.........

I am disaapointed in CB for not including those pretty match boxes with matches anymore with wins here on CB. I have won a few boxes lately and samplers but no matches. Come on CB it's good advertisement!
I am just wondering who the winner is this is your post

Cruiser ... your crusin' for a brusin' ... LOL! Oh, BTW, watch your mouth and how you talk to folks here. Your attack on mtsheron was totally uncalled for. In his earlier post, he wasn't whining either, just making a legitimate request to Cigar Bid. Whether you want to believe it or not, talk like that can get you removed from this BB. If you don't believe me ... keep it comming ...

I'm in a very rural part of FL. It's at least a 60 mile drive in any direction to a cigar shop. I'm looking for a deal like everyone else, but even if I pay retail on cbid, I'm still saving gas money AND time. When I see some guy bidding $12 each for cigar that I can get retail for $9, I just assume he lives in a market where retail is considerably higher, i.e. CA, NY, etc. R
3etail is somewhat relative.
