For lots processed on August 31, CigarBid charged me $5.95 for 10-day delivery of 15 cigars.

What is wrong with this picture. !!!!!??!!

cigars are usually delivered to me on the next friday following the close thursday evening. with a three day holiday i expected delivery on tues and it was in fact delivered than. one week i made a mistake and only placed an order for one ten pack for which i was charged per the notice on the bid site, $5.95 shipping.
my last order was for 47 cigars which were delivered on the following friday as is customary, and the shipping was $10.45. i should have known better than to place a small order, but i knew the shipping cost up front. if you have requested daily shipping, change it to once a week. if you only order a small number of cigars at a time, shipping costs per cigar are too high but there is a box to be filled and packing to put in and sealing and all the rest that goes with a shipment. that's why the second 5 pack is so much cheaper. the box is open and the packer just puts more cigas in. i hope i have helped you. [email protected] if you want to talk more about this privately instead of on the board.

char, tailgator, et al: are you going to be able to find something political to fault me on this response?

Rick,
Why are you reluctant to discuss problems other customers might be having with CBID? I agree many times people do not read the fine print or may just want to whine, but it is also possible someone may have a legitimate problem. Other bidders may benefit from the responses given. On the other hand, if everyone started sending private E-mails, then no one benefits. CBID is a great site (overbidders included) and it maintains excellent customer service but stuff does happen. Have you appointed yourself the defender of CBID or are you afraid you may fall out of Gonz's good graces?

ej178: are you out of your mind? where did i show a reluctance? i think my response was information that i wish someone had given me when i started. maybe alfa wanted to tell me to stick it my ear but was too polite to post it. i don't need to defend cbid nor would i. i have been buying here and posting for quite awhile and only recently did i learn that gonz is the bb name for someone who monitors the board. we would't know each other if we passed each other. i have been raising and getting all kinds of hell on the political board for a fairly long time and have gotten in to heated discussions with people with different opinions, but you are the first one to ever p**s me off.

A shipment to an area in the western United States takes UPS 5 business days to deliver from (they don't include weekends), so something that ships Friday 8/31 is expected to arrive Friday 9/7 normally. With the Labor Day holiday, UPS does not move packages. Therefore, it's delayed a business day and arrives Monday 9/10.

UPS ground from Brand J is delivered on the 3rd day here. Texas isn't exactly the western United States.

Wow, Rick is really getting Paranoid these days! Would we ever fault him on any issue? No, we just question his answers and facts from time to time. I am smoking a tremendous La Gloria Wavell, these things just get better and better! I have had great luck with CigarBid as far as shipments go and their customer service is second to none! Charlie

alfa - believe it or not, parts of the gulf, and western and southern TX are in that 5 business day range from Pennsylvania. If you're curious, check out http://www.ups.com/using/services/servicemaps/servicemaps.html Type in 18015 zip code and a map will pop up with shipping times to you.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. My order last week arived in my mailbx on Sat. I figured I was gonna have to wait til Tues. My buddy who lives around the block however did have to wait. Here's the funny part.
My shipment came via USPS instead of UPS. Then sometimes, it takes 4 days. I'm in DE right next to PA.
Where I have a questions is why are some items backordered? I would think if it were up for auction, it would be in stock. Anyone?

I won a bid that was backordered not too long ago, but it was filled within the week. So no complaints here.
