LOVE the vino.
Although I quickly get accustomed to finer, more expensive wines when given the opportunity, I always get the reality slap when I purchase for my home wine rack.
I like to keep the everyday stuff below $10 and often find great wines locally at 2 fer $15 or 2 fer $12.
I finally had the 2 buck chuck and thought it was OK. The Merlot was the best, stay away from the Cab.
Look for Aussie Shiraz's and you'll likely find a steal somewhere.
Here in Massachusetts, it's tough to get a company to ship wine due to local laws. My siblings and I bought a Wine-of-the-Month membership for my folks last Christmas.
The overall value in terms of dollars per bottle is not spectacular, but the outstanding variety and ability to try wines you otherwise wouldn't was priceless.
By far their most enjoyable gift, and it's one you can share with friends.
I must say, however, that I don't favor drinking wine while smoking a cigar. A fine port, on the other hand, can be stunning.
