lying liars, and the liars who tell them.

if your able to absorb and either agree or disagree with his points of view, you will enjoy the book.

if you are like most of the people on the right and blinded by the sun, you will not like his humor or his book.

i expect to hear primarily from right wingers who will not have read his book but will be able to, sight unseen, critizise everything in the book.

and that's why little w might get elected again.

Haven't had the opportunity to read it yet.

I am a Bush supporter but I don't mind other points of view. I love watching the Daily Show on Comedy Central. Jon Stewart certainly takes jabs a the pres (but also the the Dem candidates). Not much gets me rattled politically anymore. I think everyone is entitled to thier points of view...

and it is also strongly writen in the good book about what to watch out for... it doesn't come right out and say OWO... but many people know what it is....

I care about the political opinions of comedians even less than than I do those of actors and musicians.

I’ve never understood why celebrities seem to think that their opinion matters anyway. If anyone could show me a correlation between fame and wisdom/intelligence I would love to see it. Most of the outspoken celebs out there have less than or up to a high school education at best. (and no, acting school does not count toward higher education.)

I may consider wiping it with Al Frankin's stupid hair... But only after a really nasty ****, the kind that pours out like water and explodes and leaves a nasty mess that's tough to get off with several flushes...

Funny and well written with solid clearly stated agruments and at times shocking with it's points, and very well researched. I think that it almost becomes a diatribe against Frankens nemisi, O'Reilly, and Coulter, (not to mention President Bush whom he seems to love catching in, the name sake of the book, lies. There are some definate slow spots in the book with long winded stories that don't seem to really fit in with the book's structure and it could have been better were it 100 pages shorter. However this book has become a socio-polital standard, regardless of what side you are on, and those who disregard its importance are only staking a claim to ignorance.

I know all about Franken and still do not like him! How many of you know that he wrote the screen play for the movie "When a Man Loves a Woman" with Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia?
Yes, he is a smart man, but is a slight bit leveraged to the far left! Do I agree with him, No, and will I read his book, NO!

I do my best not to limit my reading material to material which mirriors my own views, which Franken does not. If I did that, it would be closeminded. Closeminded people brought us the crusades, Nazi Germany, and the Taliban.

Personally, I find Al Franken to be pretty funny. He's almost as funny as Rush Limbaugh, Dennis Miller and Bill Maher. When I hear any of these political commentators or satirists speak it usually cracks me up. I love political humor and I really don't care which way it cuts. BTW, I know that Rush isn't trying to be funny but that's usually the way it hits me.

When it comes to real information I tend to discount all the crap that these guys spew out. They're frickin' entertainers and that's it. Just like all the Hollywood folks that like to dabble in politics.

65GTOMAN,
I read just about everything. Have been a prolific reader, since I was in my grade school days. In High School, I repeatedly tested at 1800 wpm with a 90% retention rate. I read an average of 4 new books a week, and reread, a book that I have read before, usually go through 2 a week, every night to fall asleep, so I don't get wrapped up in it, and try to finish it, and lose sleep. LOL
I really am unfamiliar, with Savage, and I would be glad to read his work. If you have a copy, you would like to part with, I would love to have it.

I can part with it in a few months (im a slow reader) I think you would agree with most of what he talks about.

Savage is neither a republicrat nor demonrat, he is a pissed off American!

Michael Savage founded The Paul Revere Society (PRS). With a crisis of leadership threatening the United States, PRS stands for the reassertion of our borders, our language, and our culture.

Some say that the borders are arbitrary, English is only one of many languages in our new "Multicultural America," and that we share no common history or values. We believe in the Sovereignty of our Nation. That English is our national "glue." And that we all do share in the pillars of the Bible, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. These documents and what they stand for are our common cultural heritage.

The Paul Revere Society (PRS) will assert the values inherent in these pillars of freedom. We will seek to educate the citizenry about our nation's freedoms.

1. End Affirmative Action.
2. Close the Borders now.
3. Deport all illegal immigrants now.
4. Eliminate bilingual education in all states.
5. Require health tests for all recent foreign born immigrants.
6. Make tax cuts permanent.
7. Reduce the number of Federal Employees.
8. Tort Reform - Stop Class Action Lawyers.

small bio:

), Michael Savage is the number one drive time talk show host in the San Francisco Market and in many other cities around America. The Michael Savage Show is syndicated by Talk Radio Network.

"I guess people love my show because of my hard edge combined with humor and education," he says. "Those who listen to me say they hear a bit of Plato, Henry Miller, Jack Kerouac, Moses, Jesus, and Frankenstein. I pull many of my life experiences, including that of father, son, husband, brother, ice cream factory worker, busboy, lifeguard, writer, scientist, and my huge library of books." Listeners also hear top-flight guests and, in keeping with the fact that talk hosts attract the audience they deserve, listeners hear literate callers with intelligence, wit, and energy.

An independent-minded individualist, Michael Savage fits no stereotype. He attacks big government and liberal media bias, but champions the environment and animal rights. Trained as a scientist, he holds Master's degrees in medical botany and medical anthropology and earned his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in Epidemiology and Nutrition Science.

Savage created the phrase "Compassionate Conservative" in 1994. Savage has used this concept in his radio program and in conducting the first of four hugely successful Compassionate Conservative Conventions bearing that name in 1995. Savage has consistently drawn sold-out audiences to hear him live. For Savage, these words describe a "firewall of balance" that limits how far to the right his opinions go.

The word Compassion means "with feeling," and that's the magnetic attraction Michael Savage has proven he has by pulling top numbers in one of America's biggest trend-setting markets. Give your audience a chance to hear why for the past two years Talkers Magazine named Savage as one of America's top talk radio hosts. He knows how to explore issues, entertain, stimulate, and promote in ways that boost the ratings and profits of every station lucky enough to carry him.

Don't quite get it. Rick
I read everything I can get my hands on, though I have found the legal books a little dry, but case law is entertaining sometimes. LOL And this is true, how do you rebut something you have not read.

P.S. The trick is to look for citations, in serious stuff, to check the credability of the author.

They got little hands
Little eyes
They walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Fact, it’s against the law to play that song on the radio where I live. Even to this day!

I was going to protest this, but never got around to bring down the fascist pigs.

Who was it that said they write letters? I would like to get this law taken off the books!

In Baltimore, it is illegal to play Randy Newman's "Short People" on the radio.

I suppose they won't play the song with the N word in it, either, and neither will almost anyone else. Too bad, because no one is better than Randy at irony, and probably no one is less bigoted. The people who made that law are people who know the price of everything and the value of nothing. There are a lot of those people in the world, many of whom find kindred humorless spirits in the souless bureaucratic deadends of government.
