i am so disturbed reading these article. i am sick of iraq. we have captured the mad man. let's bring the troops home and let those f'ers kill each other.

i read they are having trouble forming a government, so what. let the goths and the turks deal with these people.

i could care less about their infrastructure, their schools, and their BS WMD that we can't find. if it was there and it's been moved to another country, we still won't find it.

bring all the americans home. we are making widows of our own people and mother's that will cry forever for a bunch of people that are uncivilized.

we lost vietnam, so what. we have lost more people in this "war" then we did in vietnam during the same time period.

are we heading towards an iraq memorial wall?

enough, enough, enough.

in the beginning of the vietnam fiasco, stats show in the same time period we lost less then the 500+ that have been killed in iraq since we went for them.

a buddy of mine did 3 tours and followed your uncles ideas. he came home in one piece with a few holes, got on his harley and hit the roads.

the guys now are not able to shoot first. they are getting road bombed.

don't you think we should get the hell out of their now and let them kill each other instead of our troops?

let the un find a bunch of peace keepers from other countries. if they can't the hell with iraq.

when i post those jimmy breslin articles, it's because, as he says, people need to be aware that kids are getting killed.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Every time there's a roadside bombing and troops die the CPA should issue the following warning and be prepared to carry out the operation:

"Citizens of [city name here]. Your town will be reduced to rubble by coalition aircraft unless the killers, or their bodies, are delivered to the CPA offices in the next 12 hours. You have been warned."

Then we need to be prepared to send in the B-52s to obliterate the town at exactly 12 hours and 1 second past the warning if the killers aren't handed over to the CPA. No building should be left standing. Once the bombing is over then ground crews should be sent to the town to bulldoze the area completely flat. It worked for the Babylonians 5,000 years ago. It worked for the Romans 2,500 years ago, and it will work for us now!

Uh hem, Rick, I'll post on your thread even though you don't apparently have the stones to post on mine;

"we have lost more people in this "war" then we did in Vietnam during the same time period."

Sir, we lost 50 people due to the weather in the North East over the last few days, what sir do you propose we do about that catastrophe? Statistically, it is MUCH worse than Iraq? Yet it doesn’t seem to affect you in the same way? I wonder why? And those people didn’t even sign up for anything?

btw, how much VX did the North Vietnamese have on hand?

That sounds like what the Israelis do? You ever ponder why the Israelis don't listen to the UN? Maybe it has to do with the "peacekeepers" that were there in 1968. When Abdul Gimael Nasser (SP?), President of Egypt, issued a declaration stating he was going to destroy Israel once and for all, and warning the UN to withdraw or lose their "peacekeepers", what did the UN do? They withdrew! As Egyptian, Syrian, and Jordanian troops massed on the borders preparing to carry out Nassers threat, the Israelis hatched a daring plan. Appoximately 24 hours prior to the Arabs being ready to launch their offensive, the Israelis launched a "pre-emptive strike" destroying the air forces of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan on the ground, and guaranteeing uncontested air superiority for what turned out to be the next six days! The Israeli Army was on the road to Cairo when the Arabs sued for peace, thus ending the six day war.

Should we entrust the victory we fought so hard for to those who have demonstrated a willingness to walk away from their responsibilities?

After the UN does their usual "bang-up job" on the peace, will the liberal left be using the cry "we just left that country in disarray, ripe for the take over by ___________ to forment hatred of our country, and make a ripe breeding ground for terrorists!"

NO, as a member of the military, let us finish what has been started! This is NOT Viet Nam, we have heard some rumblings about traffic through Syria by terrorist elements coming to assist the resistance in Iraq. Osama Bin Laden has claimed leadership of the fighters since Saddams capture. We need to recognize once and for all, that this is NOT a separate fight about oil, but a continuation of the same fight against the forces that struck us on 9/11. The question now is, what are we going to do about Syria? are we going to place it in the position of Cambodia and allow our enemies to use it as a free space to regroup, and resupply, or will we show the resolve to strike across the border, and hold the Syrians accountable for what goes on in their own country?

amen and amen. :)

i have to agree, this IS NOT viet nam all over again. not by a long shot. how do i know if i'm not Over There? first off by keeping in touch with those who are and secondly by keeping my eyes open to what i see here at home -- plenty of support for our troops.

from an ex-peace-activist standpoint (hey i was five years old and my hippie sister took me to peace rallies while my brother was fighting in 'nam), i have to say that i'm grateful to see one major difference in the "peace activist" community now, too: even those who oppose this war by and large are ALSO committed to supporting those Over There fighting it.

instead of derision for US military personnel, i've seen people doing their letter-writing campaigns to the feds ("Stop The War Now!") -- and at the same meeting, they're writing supportive letters to the troops, putting together care packages, etc.

if nothing else, THAT does my heart good.

I would like to say something here.

The same people that spit on the troops and called us baby killers in the 60’s are the same people that say I support the troops just not the war today.

They have a new face on this time around....

Not that im saying all protesters are commies or anti-American, some are just dumb as a rock and don’t know any better.

Hold on. Maybe this is coming out wrong, let me say it this way.

The reason why I hate most anti-war protesters is not for the fact they are protesting the war, its the fact that they protest the war walking hand in hand with the Islam terror groups and commie scum..

the commmies were running most all anti-war rallies in the 60s and today the commies are still up to their old tricks, today we have the commies and Islam terror groups behind the whole anti war movement.

I don’t mind somebody being against a war, just don’t go side with the enemy only because they have bigger numbers to protest with.

Communists Orchestrated Washington "Anti-War" Rally; C-SPAN Becomes Al Jazeera For A Day
Cliff Kincaid, 01/20/03

The major media kept the American people in the dark about communist involvement in the "anti-war" demonstration in the nation´s capital on January 18 that gave aid and comfort to Saddam Hussein and Kim Jong Il. Two leading members of the communist Workers World Party (WWP), Brian Becker and Larry Holmes, organized and orchestrated the day´s events, and several other communist and socialist groups openly participated in the rally. The WWP has achieved notoriety, even on the political left, for supporting the North Korean communist dictatorship.

Communist banners at the rally were visible and copies of communist newspapers, literature and publications were available (some for a price). Journalists who ignored communist involvement were either deaf, dumb and blind, or deliberately chose to ignore the facts in order to portray a false picture of the event to the American people.

The event featured vicious anti-American speeches, including an Imam who said, "It´s revolution time," attacks on American "imperialism," and a Korean who said a song called "F***ing USA" was gaining popularity in South Korea. Other speakers urged an American withdrawal from Colombia and the Philippines. The very first speaker of the day, an American Indian, accused Columbus of genocide. Saying that Republicans had impeached Bill Clinton "for nothing," Ramsey Clark called for the impeachment of President Bush.

The rally included representatives of the following groups: Louis Farrakhan´s Nation of Islam, Progressive Labor Party, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, World Socialist Web Site, Cuba Solidarity, Spartacist League, Revolutionary Communist Party USA, the Lyndon LaRouche Presidential Campaign, Communist Party USA and the Workers World Party.

C-SPAN ran live coverage of the rally and re-aired the event several times during the day and night. But it misled viewers into thinking that a group called International ANSWER was behind it. In fact, International ANSWER and its predecessor, the International Action Center, were started by the communist Workers World Party, of which Becker and Holmes are leading members. Holmes appeared on C-SPAN´s Washington Journal program before the rally to promote it. But C-SPAN ignored the patriotic counter-demonstration and failed to feature anyone who could rip the mask off the communist-inspired event. C-SPAN became an American version of Al Jazeera, the Arab television network which serves as a vehicle for extreme anti-American propaganda. This is an outrage.
