Whether you like him or not Barry Bonds deserves a shot at the record. I understand the two teams are in a pennent race but when you intentionally walk the bases loaded with last years MVP coming to the plate you are not trying to win the game. so Just freakin' pitch to him.

Wrong board but I agree that he should have a fair shot at breaking the record. Even Mark McGwuire has offered his salute to Bonds and was amazed that he was doing it in far fewer at-bats.

Ok I was in the sports fan board when i posted it but apparently I didnt change the default...blah..blah..blah, so to make it cigar related, as I watched the ASStros pitch 5 strikes in 8 at bats to Bonds I was smoking a Cuban Partagas last night and a Dos Rios That I got from Cigarbid last year for about half the price they are going for now. I am glad there are so many new people around but could you start bidding on the stuff I don't want please.

You guys want the pitcher to groove one over the middle so the jerk can hit his homerun or do you want them to worry about the pennant race, which it is quite apparent Barry Bonds is not to concerned with! Oh, I am smoking an LGC Wavell (wrong board) as I write this. I hope they do not pitch to him and I hope he ends season on 69 Home Runs so we can hear him whine and mewl all off season, about the home run record not the fact that the Giants did not win the pennant! For those of us who think character and dignity count in sports, it has been a sad week in MLB lore and history! Ricky "Dickhead" Henderson and Barry Bonds have set and broken several records, runs scored, home runs, total bases, etc. Both are such major hot dogs that there isn't enough mustard in the French's Mustard Plant to cover them both! I will smoke a cheap cigar to "celebrate" this bad turn of events. Let's see, Te Amo, Wahol, George Hamilton or Lone Wolf? Charlie

Hey Charlie, what a waste of a LGC if you were smoking it while watching Barry Bonds do his thing!

All kidding aside and despite his attitude, you have to give Bonds a some credit for tying the Home-run Mark(pun intended) in fewer at-bats and also breaking the walk record. Everyone in the world thought it was the greatest feat in Baseball just a few years ago and now it seems that no one cares. Rickey Henderson on the other hand can blow it out of his a..! Anyone who sticks around beyond when he should have retired just to break a record should be beat with a stick. Jose Canseco also is trying to reach 500 Home-runs as a guarantee for the Hall-of-Fame but only playe sparingly for the White Sox this year as a DH.
