I broke down and bought 3 Opus X sticks, 2 cedar wraps @ 17 a stick and a super belicoso @ 15 . Are they going to be worth the price? I won't be smoking them until my dad comes in for a visit in 2 weeks. I was in the local smoke shop and Sue the owner said she had just got a shipment in and said "they are going fast, you better get a few while I still have them". I've heard a lot about the Opus X and thought that my dad would probably enjoy one so what the heck.

I did not think they were all they are cracked up to be..........I found them to be good but not great. I prefer a good Mayorga over them actually. I hope I have not pissed on your parade but that is my experience with this brand.

Hey try them and make up your own mind.I happen to like the perfection #5 about 14 stick. Are they worth it I say yes but its pretty hard burning 15 bucks for a smoke.

Yeah see, I always thought mt was out of his mind. I had my first (and only, so far) Opus X as a congrats on getting a new job stick. It was just friggin good. I sat outside with a Samual Smith Winter Warmer and that bad boy stick and all was good in my world. I believe you will thoroughly enjoy it.

They're very good, but overpriced. Try the Ashton VSG and Padron Anniversary as well. All are fantastic.

I've had one, and I've got one resting. Both were gifts. It was good, but I can't justify $17 for a cigar. I dunno, maybe it's me.

One of the sticks that only get better with age. Great find, congrats!

It may also be my low paying, thankless job, or those annoying things that keep showing up in my mailbox....... What are they called... Oh yeah, Bills.

They are very good (only smoked two of them) but the price is a lot prohibitive! Too expensive, with lots of other good cigars to buy for lots less bucks. Smoke one for a big deal closing or winning lottery or something like that! Charlie PS If I won lottery I would buy a fri--ing box of them!

Right on, Jack. Add Ashton Aged Maduro and CAO Odyssey. Opus X is good, but not worth the price, imho. Ron

The Ashton Aged Maduro is a great stick, don't get me wrong, but I can't see them in the same ballpark as the Opus X or the Ashton VSG. Way too mild for a comparison. As for the CAO Odyssey, it's a nice stick, but I'd rather have an Anniversaire eXtreme. My 2 cents... :)

Thanks for the input.... but I broke down and smoked the Super Belicoso late last nignt. It was a good smoke, even burn, great draw, lots of smoke with a good peppery taste... but far from worth the money. The Padron Anniversary is still by far the best smoke I've had to date, worth every penny of the price. I tried one stick at 25 bucks, one at 12 and one at 10. The lower priced sticks were the smaller ones. I've tried ALL the Ashton's, VSG, Vintage and the regular line, all the CAO's, all the Perdomo's most of the Fuente line....ect.ect. The new Bolivar 654 Fuerte is a GREAT smoke,(Hint, Hint Keith) , very close to the Ashton VSG, but at 1/3 the price. As you can tell I have access to a great smoke shop, the only problem was I was going broke sampling all the cigars in her walk in humidor.

Like I say..........pretty label does not make a fine cigar. It was an alright cigar but not worth the $$ they command. Mine was a gift because my local tobacconist who was once my boss at the bureau said he did not like them. That came from a man who has smoked fine cigars and pipes for over 35 years. What can one say.......matter of personal preference!
