i woke up at 0800 this morning, and for the first time in a LONG time i didn't have to rush to take my pain medicine.

the pain didn't wake me up. my back didn't feel like an elephant had sat on it all night. i didn't have a minion of devils sticking pitch forks into my leg nerves. my shoulder wasn't frozen up and unmoveable. it didn't take me ten minutes just to sit up without groaning in agony.

sometimes this happens.

and when it happens, everything feels changed. i stayed in bed and listened to the rain fall on the roof. i enjoyed feeling warm and snuggly in bed and having a decent "gmorning honey" convo with my wife while she got ready to go to work. i got to kiss her goodbye and say "i love you. drive safely" with a smile on my face -- something she rarely gets to see when i'm just getting up.

she left with a smile on her face, too, instead of the "i'm so worried about you" look i usually see.

i just wanted to take a minute to type this out -- and today so far my hands do not ache and feel numb -- and just wish every single one of you a most EXCELLENT day today.

every now and then my health gives me a break. today's such a day, and it feels GLORIOUS. so i wanted to share that with you guys and just say that i hope all of you have occasion to just take a moment and ENJOY LIFE in that moment -- the song on the radio, that particularly delicious cigar (please, treat yourself to a good one today! life is good!), that streak of green lights on the way to work, the smile on your kids' faces, that quick smooch from your beloved, that break in the weather...

WHATEVER!

just take a moment today and hold onto a moment of life and cherish it. life IS good!

be blessed,
sicilian tony

well, good day to you too! I am creating traffic timing plans for progression as i type this, so I'll try to give a few more people all those green lights in the future!

Tony, today I could barely get out of bed due to my back being out and my rotator cuff being irritated (rain doesn't help either), but hearing this it makes me feel fortunate because mine will get better.......take care and I will smoke a very good cigar in your honor today!

WOO HOO! more greenies, everyone! *grin*

anyone else ever say "squeeze the lemon!" when you try to eek it through a yellow light, or did i make that up?

sonny, i'm sorry to hear about your pain, bro. i know how the rain can effect stuff, too, and it ain't pleasant by a long damn shot. and rotator cuff injuries hurt like a male child born of a female dog (or hilary; you pick!). :p

as for you being able to get better and all, i know what you're saying, but really it's all relative. i mean, to a certain extent i'm USED to this and have heavy duty meds to help me out, ya know?

i'm picking out the finest cigar i have to smoke tonight, and here's to you getting better uber-soon!
