Ok lets say Bush's service record was not straight line.. (notice I said Lets Say) anyway this event was 1972-73??? Now lets not even go over Clintons Record as to which someone here stated we were not at War during his tenure??? Hello Wake the F*ck UP.. we've been at War long before 9-11 I've got some Medals to prove it!!! but back to the Facts... the Fact is We have a President who is now running this Country he is not missed 1 days events since taking office.. even while he's on his Ranch he's still been ontop of things... Now Then 9-11 happens and from those chain of events he and his Administration has in the past couple years settled a rocky unstable stock market that many company's used the 911 Tragidy to bail out with chapter 11... Bush and Administation Covered it... On 9-12 2001 America's fighting men and women were loaded to the teeth and ready to prevent anything further like 9-11 and DID SO!!!!!
less then a month later the Taliban in Afganistan and other parts of the world were HIDING IN CAVES at which Bush and Administration Gave Orders to LEVEL THOSE CAVES... We Don't have Osama Yet but he isn't causing the Turmoil he had for a previous "tenure" Oppppsss said I would not go there... Now comes Iraq and the War.. in less than the year we've actually been inside that Country and Bush Administration setting up Democracy we've lost less than 1000 US Lives.. Would I be there helping with Democracy?? in a "Heart Beat" Has my Commander and Chief Been their??? In a Heart Beat!!!!!! People do not like Bush because he Ask's His God for Guidence every day when his day starts.. he doesn't ask the American People visiting the White House what they would like on their Pizza's later in the Afternoon...

John Kerry is the only thing the Democrats can come up with to run against a Man who (Possibly was AWOL) during a time of his service 32 yrs ago???
I don't know about the rest of you FOLKS... but I'm voting in 2004 not living in the Frickin Past as to whats going to happen with MY Country in the Future...
Sometimes you just need to pull your head out of your ass to see the Lights ON and it's GREEN!!!!!

My President and I have only one issue that I need to get solved, But I Honestly think I already know this answer to the question I want to ask him directly....

But I See GWB as second term in 2004!!!!!

my 2 cents!!!!

This is why you should think twice about bringing up Clinton's lack of military record as an arguement.

The whole military record thing in the peacetime context of 1992 and 1996 really didn't matter. Even in 2000 it really didn't matter. But now we are at war. In 2004 and the future it matters. That is why people are bringing up the Vietnam era comparisons. It's all fair in politics. People think that a candidate's war experience even if it was 35 years ago influences their war judgement in the future. That's why the Bush vs Kerry military records will remain a consideration for many.

You and other Republicans can choose to ignore it or say its not an issue. I'm sure you'd be a lot happier if Bush was able to present better documentation to defend himself beyond a shadow of doubt. Some facts is maybe enough for pundits on Fox News or the conservative talk jocks. Unfortunately Rush and Fox don't decide what the issues are on the national stage, they only influence their right wing audiences and raise issues on conservative politicians behalfs.

There's vast numbers of other information sources which point out significant gaps in the evidence presented that raise additional questions about the 1 year gap. Hence the issue remains in political play and will continue to factor in many peoples decisions. (mine included). Sometimes in politics (as in football), playing good defense is really important. Those New England Patriots know this well.

Hog, despite our political differences (which are considerable), I like your posts, respect your passions and think we would enjoy a lot of cigars together if we lived closer. I just point out that here you are being a bit inconsistent in your arguements.

I think Hog is, like myself, sick of anyone making an issue of military service. Both sides at one time or another have used that club to beat the other, and we as military members realize that neither side has any sincere stake in it. Now can we discuss something that the Democrats and Republicans don't just swap scripts over every four years?

Arguing politics is like farting upwind. No matter how good it feels to get it out of your system you still have to smell the resulting aroma.
