Yes! I love the Chapelle Show. I liked the commercial about Samuel Jackson Beer. The skit about white people dancing that had John Mayer was great too.

I tape that show every week...

I've heard Chappelle on the Howard Stern show & he sounds predictable & dumb. Are you sure it's the same guy? Better check out his show (Comedy Central?) before it's canceled.

I doubt they will be cancelling his show anytime soon. Its one of the highest rated shows on Comedy Central. I, of course, can't find any facts to back that up, but I know its true ;) LOL

Personally I don't like it. I don't understand why its ok for a black comedian to make fun of white people. But if it was a white comedian making fun of black people in the same way then they would be in big trouble.

While I agree with your point, Paul, I'd have to say that many of his sketches poke fun of blacks as well. We need more like him. I feel there are very few subjects that should be taboo for comedy.

Also, the reason that it's "O.K." for blacks to poke fun of whites is that whitey has the power. You know what they say, "Black is beautiful, tan is grand, but white is the color of the big boss man."

Again I don't feel that it's not O.K. for whites to be so afraid to poke fun of other races in clean fun. I try to think globally and act locally on this with many of my friends and aquaintances of other races. I usually throw in some white humor to "keep it fair and balanced." We all do it to each other because we all know where each other's hearts are at.

Good points Sketcha.

What I don't understand is how for instance someone can say that George Lucas is racist because Jar Jar Binks is clearly making fun of and stereotyping blacks. Yet Dave Chapelle can blatently make fun of white people at a whim. I also don't buy the argument that its ok because he makes fun of blacks too.

I'm sure he is a funny guy. But I don't find his racist material funny. But again that is just IMHO.
