a buddy of mine wrote a book and for a Military documentary book it stayed #1 for a long time.. it is acutally in it's 3rd print and he has now been contacted by PBS and another outfit to do a movie/documentary on his book about the group...

the Book Black Devel's Brigade by Joseph A. Springer

he has 4 other books in the works also 2 of them are on Naval Ships that were battle Damaged and sank during WWII and I think the other 2 are on current events with Special Forces outfits...

His first book he has me listed in his Credits...

Damn good guy and damn good book... actual live accounts of their suicide mission and lives... they were all missfits and given a last chance to stay in the military...

I just read some reviews of the book and went ahead and ordered a copy, one of the reviews stated

THEY STRUCK SHEER TERROR INTO THE VERY HEART OF THEIR ENEMIES. HUMOR, FEAR, HUNGER, COLD, HEAT, AND THE GRATUITOUS HORRORS OF COMBAT ARE RECORDED ON EVERY PAGE.

Can’t wait to start reading it, thanks hog this sounds like my kind of book with a writing style that has not been corrupted by some editor.

Also this week my friend will give me a book his father wrote who was a POW and wrote pages upon pages of his accounts, im going to type it into the computer so it will last forever. After im done I will send you a copy though email, then you can send it to CW and kody or whoever else that would be interested in this sort of thing.

Summer is coming in fast and im up to my eyeballs in hobbies but hopefully I should have it done by the end of next month or so. It will bring out deep emotions, just as I type this I fill with a deep hatred that I can’t seem to place with anyone or anything, maybe a hate for humanity would be a good choice of words. But I will brush aside these feeling once again.

Again, Thanks for telling me about that book and I look forward to reading it.

I WOULD be very interested in that/those books! GTO, have you ever read a book called "The Five Fingers"? It was weritten about a small multinational (SEATO) special Forces group, who were tasked with breaking up a high level communist military conference being held between NVA commanders (including Nguyen Van Giap) and the Chinese Communist Hierarchy. It was ghost written of course, but even though the publisher almost calls it fiction, they acknowlege that the man (a New Zealander) who brought in the story claims that as a sniper, his target was to have been General Giap!
