Hughes said, "September 11th was not just a distant tragedy. It's a defining event for the future of our country. ... Obviously, all of us mourn and grieve for the victims of that terrible day, but September 11 fundamentally changed our public policy in many important ways, and I think it's vital that the next president recognize that."

BS!
FACT, FACT, FACT: It was used in his CAMPAIGN AD!

nuff said.

Bitter,bitter,bitter!

Have you seen the Bush ads? The context that it's presented is acceptable. "We've gone through some bad times..."(the main gist)and 1 second of the WTC is shown with an American flag flying. That moment defined the Bush administration. It took the priority and everything else was pushed aside. I still remember, and you long sighed that you did too. I question whether you really remember.

Strange, everyone agrees that Vietnam was a tragic time in America’s history. However no one is complaining that Kerry is leveraging it like it was a pot of diamonds. 9/11 was a tragic time in America’s history, America looked for a leader… and found one in President Bush.

What’s wrong with him looking back and helping us remember him during those times? Are we saying it’s wrong to remember? That’s exactly what the complainer’s sound like to me. How can anyone say they remember when they complain when someone reminds them?

Then ACT like it!

You want this sitting President to not include the most horrific act on US soil since Pearl Harbor? I say after seeing the ad, that it's a tastefully done political ad. It shows where we've been as a nation and where we're going. Not backbiting, and name-calling, and taxing the rich ploys to rile the anger, but LEADERSHIP IN THE FACE OF EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES.

Put that in your memory. Remember we had this conversation when you hold your babies for the first time. Will they be safer with whom you vote for? Would anything be accomplished? Use your memory, not your anger! Howard Dean showed all of America just how far anger will take somebody.

I first heard the hoopla, then saw the ad.

At first I was surprised to see so little of the WTC 911 event.

Then I considered the source of the criticism.

I'm not overly impressed with the Ad, but the message is clear. And to suggest that it is in poor taste simply because one does not like it is self serving partisan thinking.

It really bugs me that most people dogpile on this issue until they see it for themselves.

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion, but daggone at least become armed with the facts before shooting from the hip.

Tail...I applaud the effort you put forth.

Saw the ad last night for the first time. Don't see the problem with it.

Sonn, seems like maybe you just have a problem with Bush. The ad was done in good taste.
