jack, you psychic ya! i just now popped a nathan's in the toaster oven (was gonna have a campfire, but i just wasn't up to it physically tonight). i prefer 'em toasted over the fire, but ah well. tomorrow. and a can of bush's baked beans to go with.

only two i can tolerate (and love) are nathan's and hebrew national kosher dogs. they're tied at #1 and only. :)

oh man... yeah, and the bigger the fire pit, the better the dogs. heh. i used to love ANY kind of hot dog -- made of chicken lips or snake butts, didn't matter -- so long as it was cooked "BBR" or "burned beyond recogniton." :)

this is a fortuitous thread, my friend -- i gotta check and make sure those bush's beans haven't expired yet! lol they've sat in there for at least a year... now if i could get cigars to do that... :D

if it is too cold out for you back easterners, fry the nathan's. that's what nathan's does in coney island.

the skin should be close to burning to get the true essence of flavor that makes nathan's the best in the solar system and beyond.

My favorite hot dog comes from Taylors Sausage Co. in Cave Junction Oregon. A long time friend and his family own the company. They are a small company, limited production. They sell mostly in Oregon, Shasta area. They also have their original plant in Housewive's Market in Oakland CA.

I've had Nathan's, Hebrew National, Kasper to name a few. I think Nathan's is the closest to my buddy's dogs.

Bush's Bakes Beans for the bean dept.

Nathan's is fine for me and so is Bryan's but I'm more of a brat kinda guy. Leave 'em soaking overnight in a pan of beer and onions.

Beans...I only eat the kind my wife makes...she mixes up what she calls Ranch Beans. A can of baked beans, a can of northern beans, some ground chuck(loosely fried)some brown sugar, thick cut bacon strips and Karo dark corn syrup on top to garnish...bake the whole mess in a 13x9 glass pan...Viola!

Nathans are great at home,
but Hoffmans German Franks at the
racetrack are delightful.

My mom's beans are better than your mom's beans.

Nathans are great, and a very close second to Boar's Head natural casing franks, which are the BEST IN THE WORLD.

I am not familar with any listed here except the Hebrew. We tend to eat Ball Park all beef and Bush's beans.

My Sweetie and I were both Push Cart Vendors in our pasts and We have this discussion often.

Now, I'm a Sabbrets' Man but She swears by " House of Weenies" out of Jersey. Anyone ever heard of these?

By the way, us former professionals steam the dogs.

Esskay hot dogs are No.1 in these parts. They've been served at Orioles, Colts, and now Ravens games for 50 years.
My Aunt Verna made the best beans.
