OK, not really. But for you hardcore lefties out there did your heart sink just a little? Or were your spirits uplifted that our war on Iraq is justified? Does your hatred of GWB run so deep that your biggest fear is that a large WMD stockpile will be found prior to November?

I believe there was evidence that Iraq had WMD. Some of the evidence came from Saddam's use of chemical weapons against his own people. Some of the evidence came from previous inventories of chemical weapons that could not be accounted for. Some of the evidence came from Iraqi scientists who intentionally lied to promote their agenda of removing Saddam from power. Saddam played a cat and mouse game with UN weapons inspectors for 10 years and finally lost. And if you can believe the intel, it was Saddam's goal to develop WMD.

I've read several articles about the scientists that pretended to work on WMD programs just so Saddam would keep funding their project. They mislead Saddam about the programs they were working on. What was Saddam's intent? The analysts that interpret intelligence reports are expected to make a determination based on the information provided to them. So, maybe they got this one wrong, maybe not.

This past week, the Whitehouse released the PDB that discussed the Bin Ladin/Al Qaeda threat. I've read it a couple of times. There is no specific threat that could have been acted upon. Just some general intel on Al Qaeda and their desire to hit targets inside the US and possibly even hijack airplanes. Still there will be those who, for political reasons, will argue that the information in the PDB was strong enough to take action and that the Whitehouse could have done more to prevent the tragedy on 9/11. These are the same people that will claim that the intelligence on Iraq WMD programs wasn't strong enough to justify a war.

My spirits were uplifted that our war on Iraq is justified. But I believed it to be so regardless of WMDs. I do hope we find them, but I believe we'll have to invade Syria to do so...

As I've stated before, to use them he must have had them. The question, therefore, becomes where did they go and when? Does it make sense that Saddam would have distroyed them and kept that a secret despite the fact the sanctions were costing him billions? By the way, for everyone that wants a smoking gun-the gun smokes after it's fired. Then it's too late.

Based on the left's belief that the PDB was enough for Dubya to act against bin Laden, then I believe that Roosevelt also had enough information to act against the Japanese to prevent the 12-7 attack. Because of this, my office colleagues and I are starting a drive to remove Roosevelt's portrait from the dime.

i believe roosevelt forced the dec 7th attack by shutting the embargo of japan.

i believe the guys that were murdered at pearl harbor were setup.

i do not believe the japanese navy could sail en masse for as long as it took them without being noticed.

i believe that keeping all the ships in port was done on purpose.

i believe roosevelt needed the war to get us out of the depression.

i believe leaders are willing to kill people to accomplish their agendas.

I have been speaking with members of the South Carolina National Guard 122nd Engineering Battalion. They just returned from a year in Iraq. While in Iraq, west of Baghdad, they destroyed many tons of conventional weapons, which only put a dent in what is there.

I asked why they didn’t just blow up all the stockpiles. The reason given was possible the presence of chemical weapons in the stockpiles made it too dangerous. They had to sort and remove chemical weapons before blowing up the conventional stuff. While doing this, they found things like a container filled with Saran and mustard gas shells. Nerve gas? Yes and in the Iraqi military installations they used as their base they found ample supplies of Iraqi atropine (nerve gas antidote) injection kits. They also destroyed missiles the Iraqis were supposed to have destroyed, including Chinese Silkworms. Flawed intelligence it was, but this was very interesting information.

pentz,

Very good points. I couldn't agree more. The very same people that say (said) we didn't have a reason to invade Iraq are saying we should have preempted the 9/11 attacks. If it wasn't for the 9/11 attacks, we still wouldn't have the fortitude to take the war to the terrorists.
