a spoiled baby who happens to be fortunate to live in times where ballparks are small, designer drugs and supplements are prevelant, pitching is diluted, and race isn't so much an issue (as it was in Aarons time as he was getting death threats nightly)?

I don't really need 95 more homeruns to tell me that.

GO A's!!!

OOO lukin,
Just because you have such a fine ballpark over in Oakland, heheheeee. Not to mention how many fans pay to watch the A's. Is it true that the A's give away more tickets then sell for their games???
You talk about smaller ballparks, but how many HR's were not homeruns at Candlestick? They say Willie Mays had 100 - 150 taken away due to the wind.

Go Giants

I have to agree that Bonds is a steroid taking, whining little spoiled rich boy. BUT ya gotta have skillz to hit that ball that far that consistently. It isn't all about strength. It is hand eye coordination and bat speed as well.

Can you believe the guy that snagged number 660 out of McCovey cove gave it back? Was that stupid or what? The guy is a multi-millionaire. Why give him a ball potentially worth another million or so? I'd have had that sucker on e-bay as soon as I dried it off...

beleive me I would like nothing more than for the A's to pack up their stuff and leave Oakland. I am a Raider fan as well, but ever since the Raiders came back, "Raiderfan" has made watching baseball games a miserable experience. Its also sad that the A's can put a winning ballclub out onto the feild and only draw 15,000 fans a night. I live 200 miles away and still make it to about 15 games a year. If Oakland fans can't show their support when they live that close, I don't think they deserve a team. There is no excuse not to go to a game when you can get a ticket a hot dog and a soda for less than twenty dollars total (not to mention that the BART drops you off right in front of the stadium) I say move em up to sacto where the fans will fill the seats. I would still be around eighty miles away, but I would buy season tickets if they were that close.

They need to put an * by his numbers, his and all the other f'k heads for ruining this sport with steroids.

Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa... the list goes on and on...

KNOF allow me...

Ok all you Bonds bashers, bring it on. And lets talk BASEBALL...not what you think of HIM. Lets talk about his baseballs skills. He is an amazing talent that has been a media whipping boy since he came into the league. Thanks to his surley father and his attitude, granted Barry's attitude is no better and treats the media in his own way, god bless him, Bonds has never gotten a fare shake for his ability to play baseball. Look at what the man has accomplished on the diamond. Im guessing that SIX MVP's is a fluke because of diluted pitching and smaller parks and whatever "Secret Sauce" he is supposed to be taking. If its so damn easy, why is he the only one winning MVP's? Oh by the way, Mr Ruth never faced a lefthanded specialist, played at night, or faced a relief pitcher. He was a drunk, womanizer, was spoiled, and had the entire city of New York kissing his ample behind. But heaven forbid he had an EZ chair in the clubhouse. DiMaggio was an egotistical, crybaby, and an a$$hole to everyone around him. I could go on, but its Bonds that gets all the bullsh**. And another thing, why isnt anybody talking about the other BALCO buddies?? Why isnt Sheffield being hung in effigy? Hell, if its the steriods how come he hasn't hit 73 home runs and won multiple MVP's.

The man is one of the greatest of all time. I know thats hard for some of you to swallow, but as the Retrosexual man rules state, Deal with it...

Ok Im done now... And I feel much better...carry on.

As an A's fan I was also a huge Giambi fan. I didn't hate him for leaving because frankly the A's screwed him. I still liked him as a player. That being said all of the evidence pointing to ALL of those guys involved with BALCO is too much to ignore. I say boot them all out of the league. Why hasn't GIambi and Sheffeild hit 73? because frankly they aren't as talented as Bonds. Bonds has an amazing amount of talent, but if he is taking steroids, then all of his talent doesn't mean squat because he still had to cheat to get ahead. For anyone that say steroids don't help ballplayers because it doesn't help with bat speed or hand eye coordination, I will ask back, then why are they taking illegal drugs, for a good time?
MY original post bashing Barry was more to point out that his rise to the top was much easier than those before him. Not necessarily Ruth or Dimaggio, but certainly Mays and Aaron. You can't tell me that Bonds has it harder than HAnk Aaron did. Besides all of the modern luxuries that Bonds enjoys such as personal physical trainers, private jets, workout facilities and first class treatment (all of which Aaron did not receive) Bonds also doesn't have death threats being made against him and his family. HE doesn't have to worry that if he steps up to the plate and hits a homerun that a sniper will kill him from the stands. Whatever Bonds does from here on out is admirable, but nothing compared to Aaron or Mays

I agree with BeatDragon. Barry Bonds is one of the greatest a**holes to have ever played the game. If Ty Cobb and Joltin' Joe deserve to be in the Hall of Fame then Barry certainly does too; with or without an asterisk.

Man, are you splitting hairs. He is one of the best offensive players of this or any other generation, but it doesnt count because it was "easy for him". C'mon now, think about that statement. Really think about it. So what you are saying is every contemporary player that Bonds has faced is somehow inferior to any player those two all time greats faced? (As a side note, imho, Willie Mays is THE greatest of all time) These players that Bonds is facing now dont have personal trainers, private jets, workout facilities, and all the other emenities that you degrade Bonds for? Seems to me to be an even playing field.

And I think I can honestly say that a privite jet does not aid in the abillity to hit a basebell.

I don't think any of them are taking steroids. They are taking drugs that do help their performance. McGuire was taking andro and stopped when all the publicity started. These guys all have natural ability this just gives them a legal edge. I don't like Bonds - hell not much of a fan of this sissy sport at all - but I give the guy credit cause he is a helluva player. Of course if they get a hang nail they'll miss a week or so.

Want all natural look at Pujols.

Thank you BeatDragon,
Tim, you hit it on the head and I couldn't of said it better. Yes Barry can be an A$$hole, but I would take another 8 A$$holes to field a team.
We all can be ass's too. Stick a mic up your a@@ and see how you like it.
OOOO BTW my seats are right behing him and I have the honor to watch one of the best play 40+/- times a year.

Not to mention I enjoyed a Torano Tribute yesterday before the game, and his number 660!!!

Don't forget the great Babe Ruth he took the steroids of his day before playing a game it was called BEER. Can you imagine how many home runs Babe would have hit if he didn't drink before each game and took bobby bonds choice of steroids and corked his bats like say it ain't sosa, hmmm. JonR

Pujols is my man.

I hope Bonds never makes it to the record, I don't like him, and never have.

And didn't he used to weigh about 150 with the pirates and added 50 pounds of "muscle" in one offseason? Even if that is a myth, I still don't like him.
