First, cj, bite me!
Second, if I'm not mistaken it is ASU's Stadium and college stadiums are, more often than not, named after former players, so it is right on that the stadium be named after one of it's most outstanding student/athletes. Why in the hell would they overlook Pat Tillman to name it for someone who wasn't even an alum?!?!?! If this was an issue of naming a municipal building, street, highway, or governmental landmark, then your arguement would be correct.
See, your arguement should be, "why name the stadium after Pat Tillman when Joe Blow of the 1967 Sun Devil team was a hero too?"
Guys, do remember. What made him so special was the fact that he thumbed up his nose at a $4mill+ contract (with insentives) to serve......how many others in that position have done the same. I'm not saying his life was worth more than others, it wasn't, but there is another side to this.
