Wow, a real knock your socks off full bodied and complex cigar! I have never smoked one of these little powerhouses and bought a couple today at High Times in Costa Mesa, CA and really enjoyed the one I smoked! Has anybody else tried the Hoyo de Monterrey 143rd Anniversary cigars? What do you guys and gals that have smoked one think? I give this one a 4.1 on a 5.0 scale! Charlie

I picked up one of the 135th Ann. just before Christmass. Is it the same smoke? (cedar wrapped rubusto stamped 135th anniversary)If so, I'm looking forward to it.

I have had two of the maduros and enjoy them immensly. A definate difference from the regular. the extra ligero leaf makes them pretty darn awesome.

Whoops, my mistake, it is the 135th Anniversary and yes they are very good! I have never been a big fan of Hoyo de Monterrey, have always liked Excalibur's.
This is a cigar worth trying! Charlie

Sorry to disagree. I smoked 5 of them and they didn't light my fire. Not bad, but I will take an Excalibur #1 Maduro over them any time. JMHO. bill

I was gifted one by Joe Dinc about two months ago and I thought it was a great smoke with some kick, very nice flavor, and smooth finish...I'd definitely buy some...They really surprised me...I didn't think they would be very complex for a HDM
