NEW YORK — Tony Randall, the comic actor known for playing lovably prissy characters, has died. He was 84.

Randall died in his sleep Monday night at NYU Medical Center, according to his publicist, Springer Associates.

The actor was known for his role on "The Odd Couple."

i am sorry to read this.

i am also troubled by the need for men at his age wanting to father a child as he did recently.

Best at playing the uptight and nit picking characters of all actors. As stated above "prissy"!

I hope this starts an Odd Couple come back on the re-run circuit. One of my all time favorite shows.

One of the greats
I have to agree with Rick though...surely he knew that by fathering a child that late in life the child would be fatherless. I think this will be harder on his child than anyone, its a shame
