Sorry Very Long but worth the Read if you Care...
Hog

Hey Everyone, I don't care what your party favorites are you all know how I feel (pretty much anyways) this info below is for every Military Veteran and you can help them...you can send all the care packages in the world, but this here below is what they "Veterans" need the most from the homefront..
http://www.nti.org/d_newswire/issues/2004/5/18/b047b91a-baae-4469-a369-ce894037d5a1.html

I will go on record here for a bit.. I started my military career in 1985 joining the AF ANG in 1990 Saddam Hussain invaded Kuwait and Bush Senior and the United States along with a Large Coalition force decided to remove them from Kuwait, during the build-up we had people coming around asking for Volunteers (needed them yesterday)to fill certian career fields for this event. (Desert Sheild/Desert Storm)"not trying to toot my own horn here" I was one of those who signed up (Volunteered) I lived out of my packed bags for 2 months before I came down off my pre non deployment expectations... I then relized this was a crock of crap.. Why ask and tell me something and then it never happen? Ongoing.. in 1993 the local country situation needed assistance and again "Flood of 93" they called for Volunteers I was there.. knee deep in the Illinois River...again turns in the barrel... tasking to cover the no fly zones in Iraq... went on all 4 deployments in a volunteer status 911/post 911.. locked and loaded... my last deployment in 2002, this one is where I feel I am still deployed...long story and will not go into details Now...
I in 1999 took a Manditory Vaccine Shot that set my world upside down.. the events that have medically taken place with my body since that time are nothing I would wish on anyone... these facilities listed above have been helping Many Veterans including myself get on with life after 1000's have had simular experiances with their lives.. my Military Career is coming to a stop shortened by the above events. I am going to miss the high paced adventure of my 18 1/2 yrs to being able to do my part Protecting the Interests of these United States... a Land that I Love!!!! I have told the Wife and she already knows.. I am devoting my life to helping fellow Veterans with their career's.. How I am not sure just yet.. but this is something God wants me to do and I feel strongly he will show me exactly when the time comes... in the meantime I would do everything all the years over again in a heartbeat.. I will just leave off the Manditory Vaccines and that would be just fine by me...
what this POST is for.. is to awaken and ask each and everyone of you for your help... getting the word out to help these Veterans get the assistance they need when they need it.. cut backs are fine as long as your not cutting the hand that feeds you... these Military Members deserve better treatment then what is being shown in Congress and the Administration here in the articles... and everyone needs to contact their representatives and let their voice be heard on this one!!! http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/index.html

I have an email to coincide with what I have said above if anyone is interested please drop me your email and I will forward this on to you to share with others.... "usahog at hotmail dot com"

There is no price that is too high to care for our troops. Also, please consider sending Senator Bingaman's office a thank you for their work on this - and to his staff! Thanks to those that helped work with Senator Bingaman's office on this!

Senator Bingaman is preparing to offer the following amendment to the Department of Defense reauthorization bill, which is on the Senate floor right now. This amendment would reauthorize the Vaccine Healthcare Center (VHC) Network, which were created by Congress in 2001 to provide consultation, education, and clinical health services to our nation’s servicemembers who need additional information, are seeking referral, and need health care services with respect to the DoD vaccine program. This includes the provision of needed health care services for those suffering adverse events from any number of vaccines that our nation’s military personnel receive.

Below is a story about the Vaccine Healthcare Center Network and its importance to our nation’s servicemembers. Unfortunately, the VHC Network is an “unfunded requirement” for fiscal year 2005 so will receive no funding in the coming year unless action is taking to reauthorize and fund the program.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this one

DMV, this is all new and on the Senate Floor right now... unless I sent it to you in the last two days??
this one is being addressed right now.. it says the Administration is the one's who left it off the last go round of fundings.. I find that very hard to swallow.. but not to mix in political sides on this one.. this is Down Right Benifits all the Veterans Organizations across this Country has fought for since the known GWS (Gulf War Syndrom) and it is a damn crying shame the People at the top want to leave off the Funding to help these Vets... who are protecting the Interests of these United States as we Speak!!!!

Emails on there Way...
Thanks All

Russ: I am very sorry you are ill. Let us hope that your immune system battles back and you have a full recovery.

I have written in this forum in several threads that the current administration has not been veteran friendly. In fact, since the 2000 election, with both a Republican congress and president, increases for veterans' health care have not kept up with the cost of health care. The average wait for a disabled veteran for a hearing aid may extend to two years, and getting a dental appointment may take months.

You may recall, I actually keyed in articles from the Disabled American Veterans magazine, citing the declining funding for veterans' health.

In years past, I was on the State Advisory Council for Agent Orange Veterans and wrote the state legislation for the Vietnam Veterans' Bonus. An immediate relative was state director of the VA hospital and clinics for over 30 years. And I am a disabled Vietnam vet.

I am very familiar with the disappoinment, sorrow, and anger you are feeling. I have seen the abandonment of veterans since the 60s, when I became involved in veterans' issues. This administration, at both the congressional and executive branch, is as hostile to veterans' health as any administration I have ever seen.
