The wildest thing I've ever seen in my life. At first I thought it was an interpreter, but then I realized that he was being fed the speach through some sort of an ear piece or something. But the guy was talking, and then the president would say immediately after the disembodied voice the exact same words. It was a terriable faux pas on their part. I'm sure they've all done it for some time, but we just don't see it/hear it. It was really bad I thought.

As the speach went on, it got louder and louder, the voice in the background. Something is screwed with the audio because as it proceeded, you could tell he was talking and it was his voice. They just really messed up the audio and video feeds...

They might do this for every speech or they may not. It could be possible that they had to prepare a speech ahead of time and read it in order for someone to translate more effectively to the presscore, or anyone in attendence. Certainly the audio was screwy, but I imagine they want the translator to repeat as quickly as possible what the president is saying to get the full effect of his speech (i.e. applause, immediate reactions) As someone who spent quite a lot of time in a foreign country I have seen this kind of thing before (i.e. when Clinton visited)
