i just spoke to trish and she said that there are a lot of bidders using one day shipping. if you are only going to bid on one item than you will pay the heavy shipping on that item. if you are going to bid on several item, change your shipping to once a week, friday shipping. if you look carefully you will see that the second 5 pack is very cheap. the first charge made on you order will be the highest price sometimes $3.95, sometimes $5.95. if you combine that order with anything else you are ordering, you will cut you shipping expense dramatically. the information is there on each of the sites. i get my shipment in calif on the following friday or the next monday if there is a holiday. trish said to HIT YOU OVER THE HEAD with this info.

Thanks for the reminder, Rick. I can't figured out if it's a shipping discount for winning more than one lot on any one day, regardless of the number of lots you win during the week (which works like an incentive to bid higher daily and, thus, win the extra lot) or as a reduced shipping cost to send you more than one loit in just one box a week.

I said earlier that handling must be a $2 charge. Trish corrected that misconception nicely. After getting the bid fever I figured out quickly that once a week is the way to go. I don't smoke 'em fast enough to warrant faster shipping! It's a good deal, no question.

Right. I chose once a week too. But I must be dense about what savings we're talking about. I can't figured out if the shipping discount (the $.50 shipping for additonal lots) is a reduced shipping when you win more than one lot on any one day, regardless of the number of lots you win during the week or a reduced shipping cost to send you more than one lot once a week.

In my case, it was 3.95 shipping for one lot vs 8.95 shipping for 6 lots. Not rocket science.

Then shipping costs have nothing to do with the number of lots you win on any one day or between Fridays. You still pay one shipping cost (the highest for a single lot) whether you ship daily or weekly. Remember, I'm dense. The way I see this is you'd pay the same $8.95 whether you won your six lots on a single day and shipped daily or won them over a week and shipped weekly.

No you are not dense! You are correct with the example you are using. If you won six bids in one day or one bid over six days the shipping would be the same. However, if you are set to ship everyday and won one bid every day now you would pay the $3.95 everyday for a total of $23.70, instead of the $8.95.

The savings program does not apply to some things, like humidors. Each bid description is clear but you need to look.

And to clarify one more thing, additional 5 PACKS are $0.50 each, other items like Boxes, Bundles or Samplers are an additional $1.00 each (remember anything in the samplers catagory is a Sampler - even if it is a 4 pack). Hopefully that has cleared up any confusion.
Oh and by the way Rick thanks for the New York accent comment - talk about the pot calling the kettle....
