as a long time spidey fan, I gotta say that Toby Macguire is a dweeb, but I won't miss a chance to see doctor octopus on the big screen :)

Watched a midnight showing of this movie last night. I throughly enjoyed it! A big comic book superhero fan of course. But I loved the story line and such in this one. A good ending in my opinon. Special effects were done very well....doc ock is awesome!!! Very enjoyable

Just read a hard critic's review and the guy loved it. He really singled out that they significantly improved the special effects and that Dr. Octo is a wonderful villain. He even applauded the deeper issues of both main characters.........I do believe I'll pay the big bucks to see this one!

Took my kids to see this today. I liked the 1st one, but the 2nd one is MUCH better.

The "subway scene" is my favorite part.

FWIW...I "peeked in" on Farenheit 9/11...all 3 people were doing well...then I left the 2 back to their "documentary"!

Saw the second one taoday. Gotta say from the first that as a long time comic book fan that I didn't care for the first one, but this one was a little more enjoyable. Doc ock was insanely cool, but other than that it was fairly lame. I sometimes think the writers have never read a Spiderman comic book judging from the fact that Spidey has virutally no witty lines in any of the movies. The special effects were also much improved, but Toby Macguire is horrible and all three of the main characters overact to the point of soap-operaness. For my money it doesn't even come close to being as awesome as X2 or even Batman 1.

Lukin...um...Stan Lee...Hello? He doesn't have to read them...He writes them!

Seeing his technocolor creation on the big screen has got to be a thrill for his multi-faceted talents.

I think that everyone casted in this movie is a dead ringer for the comic book...The original that is! All the way to Aunt Mae. Dunst is MJ and every other character breathes life into the flatline comic book. I understand what you said about Spidey's comments, but instead of saying them...Tobey gets to act them. You know what he's thinking, he just doesn't get to say the lines. Out of all the "superhero" comic book to screen movies that I've seen, I'll take the Spiderman series hands down. Batman was a joke to itself. It was supposed to be based on The Dark Knight, not the tv series! X-Men, action packed, but fails to deliver with a solid script. I like a movie with a plot and not just stuff blowing up on the screen with no reason, and no background information to the characters. Superman started ok, but went the way of Rocky films...too much isn't a good thing. The Hulk pushed the envelope with it's special effects, but overall the movie was lame. Daredevil? Blah. There was an older 1980's version of Captain America that was ok...but for the way that they're taking painstaking measures to build this series up and create future plots that can be believable...I'll take Stan Lee's favorite...Spiderman!

Go and see this one on the big screen!

DMV,
in my best imitation of the comic book buy from the simpsons, "Worst spiderman movie defense....ever". In some respcts you're right, but those three main actors are just horrible. They don'r make me suspend my beleif for one minute, I can't get past their acting.

I did notice quite a few cigars being smoked in this movie. Jameson always has one, at one point Doc Ock light one without using his hands which is really cool, and last but not least, my favorite companion to a cigar, Makers Mark was what was making Harry drunk the entire time.
