Whoa, C-Dub, let's back that truck off my legs for a second! When naivete passes, cynicism sets in. It's a natural process; you'll see.
Let's examine what you call "good news" and a "silver lining": a group of radical Islamists calling for executions. Whether the targets are 'good guys' or 'bad guys' our highest calling would be to resist such vigilanteism, even during time of war.
During war the first casualty is the truth. I didn't make that up, of course, it is an old saying. I'm not complaining about it; it just is. If our CIA is only conducting misinformation schemes, then it has really cleaned up its act from the way it used to operate in the 60's and 70's. Formenting armed revolution and political assassinations used to be its forte.
Do I think that our government is "that evil"? Well, that's an interesting question that presupposes that it is an evil thing IF our gov't is behind an announced (but not actual) plot to assassinate Zarqawi. This is the same plan that you had earlier called good news. My actual feelings about the announcement: more amusement than anything. I don't know that our gov't is behind this; I rather hope they are.
As for the foil leggings, if the solar flares from last November didn't get us, then I think I'm safe (for the time being).
The black helicopters are another matter entirely, but I'll save that for another day.
