John Kerry yesterday received the endorsement of the NEA, (National Eduacation Assoc), the largest Union in the United States.

Today, (after being scheduled for several months) Kerry was to speak at their annual convention being held in Washington DC. He cancelled his appearance, instead of waiting one day to announce his running mate, he decides to make his choice and then alienate the largest unified group of people in America one day after receiving their endorsement. What an idiot

The NEA is such a die-hard liberal organization that he would have to do much more than that to alienate them! That is the dangreous truth of the matter! We conservatives tend to be much thinner skinned than liberals, and can turn our choice on a single issue, a "litmus test" if you will, and fragment the base. If we fall into this trap, these people CAN take the White House, and we can return to the glory days of Clinton, and Carter! REMEMBER '92!

...yup.....the best economy in history was sooooooo aweful.....

BTW, don't give me the cyclic economy "Clinton had nothing to do with it" cr@p. Do your homework and you will learn that current administrations (no admin. in particular) have a VERY large impact on economic growth.

The NEA said they'd still support Kerry even though he screwed them.

Will you still support Kerry WHEN he screws you??

The Democratic Party...home of the NEA, Jesse Jacksons "Rainbow Coalition", and radical gay and lesbian alliances like "Act Up" and "Queer Nation", just to name a few!!

Glad I'm a conservative...I'd much rather be associated with the "religious right" than wackos like "Queer Nation"...how someone can be associated with the likes of "Act Up" and "Queer Nation" is beyond me.

I agree with you & it pains me to be lumped in with that bunch. Unfortunately, dubya's performance has been poor & he should be "fired".

He has hurt small businesses, increased the deficit, left the borders wide open while fighting foreign wars AND rebuilding countries with $$$ he DOES NOT HAVE! Corporations are thriving under his watch but Federal/State budgets are cut to the bone, and we do not have enough concrete for roads and schools. The building supplies/$$$ go to middle- eastern savages who are ungrateful and who get to keep their oil revenues!

He has opened the gates for UN tribunals that will judge our military in the near future. He greased the skids for CAFTA which will recreate the sucking sound of lost textile jobs AND farm goods to Central America.

He has outlawed partial birth abortions but done nothing about abortion. He has also done nothing about tort reform but wants to protect pharmaceuticals from justifiable lawsuits.

He has singlehandedly changed me from a paleoconservative to a moderate/liberal. He's good at sending out signed photos and pretending to understand complex issues... He's a fool.

His opponents aren't much better but at least they may try give small businesses a fair shake- much like the Clinton/Gore administration. We could do with less corporate welfare and with men who can stare down the vile pharmaceutical industry & their puppetmasters, the CDC.

That's why I will give the Democratic duo a shot this time. Besides, they'll have a Republican congress of cowards to hopefully reign them in...

Sorry to hear that you are voting for the "Two Johns" but I would never vote for Flipper Kerry under no circumstance.....he has always opposed any vote in Congress to upgrade the Military and now he says "I want the most up to the date military"! Dumbass needs to learn what we have today! I will vote for the lesser of two numbskulls (GWB) and hope for the best!

Charlie, it was not an easy decision. My family and many of my friends did not want to take this route either. We based it on personal experience and what we see all around us- not "talking points".

Several years ago, I used to dislike Rick's political opinions IMMENSELY. Since then, I've undergone an epiphany. It turned out Rick was much more right than wrong. Just as he's become more conservative, I've become more (yikes) liberal.

I just hope that we can close the borders and focus on our domestic needs in time. Time's running out.

I appreciate your opinion and believe me, if I knew that Kerry was even close to a man of his word, I would consider him! He is not someone who will stand on his convictions, just follow his record if you do not believe me! Nobody, but nobody will ever close the border........although it should be done! So I will go with GWB-who I know will fight the war on terror and take the US interest at heart and not the United Nations warped views of freedom!

Kerry has no convictions on which to stand ... I wouldn't consider him for any office no matter who was running against him (unless his opponent were Michael Moore)

I hate to say most of you are right, the NEA will still support Kerry with there vote, including my wife, though I will be voting for Bush. The President of the Association was disappointed that Kerry didn't even have the courtesy to call him directly with the regret of non appearance.

If you think that GW hasn't kept his word, or that he's deceived you in some way, just wait until JF Kerry is in office...your head will spin with all of the flip-flopping and double-speak emanating from his pie-hole.

It will be like the Klintoon era all aver again...only this time the new guy won't be quite so slick/slippery (i.e., used-car salesman).

Hopefully, we will not have to experience John Kerry aka Flipper being in office of President! This would be the worst thing that could possibly happen to the USA. All the do gooders, liberals, Bush haters should take note that GWB keeps his word and stands on his convictions, much more than Flipper will ever do or has ever done in the past!

Is this the best the Democrats could muster up to run for the office of President?

As I stated in another thread.Basically now days we are just looking for the lesser of two evils. Yeah Kerry does flip-flop on alot of issues and we may be in for a ride if he takes office. But I think I would still rather take my chances on unknown possibliities he could do. Where as Bush will definitely burn us out trying to regain honor for his daddy, who couldn't get the job done in the Gulf the first time around. I know I was there. So because of Big Bush, Jr will cost this country so many of our young men and women. But hey look at the death penalty rate when he was in TX, guess he just figured inmates weren't enough anymore to tame his sadistic ways. Now he can get rid of a whole lot of how do we say "underprivledged" kids in America, who join the service wanting to see more than the Ghettos or Trailer Parks or whatever, outside thier windows.
