My in-laws live there now. They're looking to sell and move up to the Tampa area. It's like the movie Cocoon. Geriatric city there. People dying in the grocery stores, no lie! Every time I go to visit and we pop into Publix there's a paramedic vehicle outside with lights flashing. It's close to Punta Gorda, killer beaches and Gaspirilla Flats but don't set your expectations too high. The big town ammenties aren't there yet, and I don't think they'll be there for another 10 years.
