no way.

In a statement, Berger acknowledged that he removed his handwritten notes without first having them reviewed for sensitive information, and he also said he "inadvertently" removed some of the classified documents he had reviewed during his time at the Archives.

Berger currently serves as an informal adviser to the campaign of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry.

"There is a story here, and Sandy concedes he made an inadvertent mistake," one source, a former Clinton administration colleague, said. "But this has been kept confidential for months. So why now?"

aka "typical political tactics for an election year."

honestly, i wouldn't be surprised to see this story break if it were a R or a D. it's just what folks do -- try to shine the light of bad-bad-bad on the other side.

if it had been a GB Sr.-related dude in the heat of the spotlight over a gulf war investigation, i'm quite sure the Dems would be all about breaking this at a critical time as well.

Timing? Give me a break. When you can't handle the truth, shoot the messenger. The disappearing Bush military records stink. The vanished Hilary records stunk. Berger crying that top secret documents indadvertently got stuck in his underwear stinks to high heaven. You die-hard partisans ought to occasionally get a whiff of fresh air. No puns intended. Maybe.

Cav.... If you think this story was leaked by the vast right wing majority dont you think they would have done it during the hearings when ****** Clark was testifing??????
Seems to me it was released to the public after an investigation determined that there was enough evidence to determine he did commit a crime of theft from a federal building

i can't think of too much to say about this.

stupid - yes.

devious - who knows and for what purpose. to make a former president not look bad? again, for what purpose

my conclusions - none, because i am not tainted by hate.

Yo can all be reassured everything is AOK, clinton took a time out from his book signing ( do you think micheal moore helped him write his autobiography?) to say, "most" of the doucuments were returned and the ones that were not returned were not "relevant" to 9/11. clinton also said taking "classified doucuments" without permission is not stealing. When clinton was queried if it's not stealing what would he call it, he responded "well I know it's not sex".

Whew, I for one can breathe alot easier now.

Yo Rick:

"my conclusions - none, because i am not tainted by hate."

So then what your saying is all the bashing you did toward George W. Bush and his daughters was done out of love ?

^Yes Jon, it was "tough love". LOL

You know that the opposite of hate is indifference, right? So if Rick really hates Bush, he wouldn't be focusing so much attention on him.

Since he does, he must be secretly in love with him--as I am.(head explodes)

Come to think of it, deep down you must love Kerry and liberals, yourself. Fess up.

blood

PS: Rick, no need to goof on my "wisdom".

E -- but i DON'T think it's a VRWC. i think it was just something that EITHER party would do during an election year: pick the time to release what info they've had for awhile now. doesn't matter who was hoping for re-election, a lefty or a righty.

btw, it was the COMMISSION that said they had all the info they needed. newsflash: clinton isn't running for president anymore!

now as for what to do with this guy -- there can be 1,000 reasons but there's not one excuse. cuff 'im.

CNN’S BILL HEMMER: "Senator, let's talk about the Sandy Berger situation now. On the floor of the Senate yesterday, this is what you said there."

SEN. MITCH MCCONNELL (R-KY): "Were I engage - to engage - in a little literary flair. I might say it seems Sandy walked out of the National Archives with some PBDs in his BVDs. And some classified docs in his socks."

HEMMER: "Some take that in good humor. Democrats are saying that they are still suspicious of the timing. Do they have reason to be suspicious?"

MCCONNELL: "Well, the timing is irrelevant. I mean the point here is that apparently, former National Security Adviser of the Clinton Administration seems to have, admits to have, walked out of the Archives with classified documents. This is extraordinary. That's the reason there's an investigation going on. I'm stunned that that would happen. And I think the Kerry campaign ought to not only distance itself from Berger, which they've done, Berger has stepped aside, but also Joe Wilson who's now been proven by both the British review and the U.S. review to have been telling untrue things about the President of the United States, should be asked to leave the Kerry campaign as well."

Much to do about nothing........did I say that? Golly, this is something the Michael Moore's and Al Frankens of this world would beat a drum over if it had been a Republican and they would be screaming--Treason! But since it is an honorable Democrat the major networks are not buzzing about it!

Guilty======Off with his head!
