whole lot of folks vote "no" to amending the constitution lightly. thus, decades' worth of constitutional amendments have been voted down. when was the last time one was voted into the document?
i would vote no as well, though i love that flag with all my heart. it's not necessary to amend our constitution.
when the flag passes, i stand and salute it. i have one on my own property that i care for daily and nightly. but i don't think that our constitution needs to be amended.
btw, one of the reasons i heard that some republicans voted no was because of the hailstorm of flag desecration lawsuits that would come of it. all those flag safety pin things? desecration. flag t-shirt? desecration. (why? it's not being flown properly and appropriately according to federal guidelines).
