I don’t have a link for the actual quote, but I heard John Kerry say he will wage a new more ‘gentle’ war on terrorism. What the heck does that mean? Is that what we really need right now? Here’s something to consider before responding.

The wife of a martyr in Saudi Arabia has reportedly written a letter to the wife of Paul Johnson, the American beheaded by Saudi terrorists several weeks ago, telling Ms. Johnson that she, "finds solace" in Johnson's "slaughter," and insisting, "The blood of your husband is the blood of a dog because he is an idolatrous infidel. ... May you shed tears mixed with blood, just as we wept blood because of your airplanes and your troops [in the Middle East]."
The letter, posted on an Al-Qaeda-linked Web site, says -- "We are just getting started and the corpse of your husband shall be followed by mountains of corpses of his countrymen, until they leave the country of our Prophet, ... lowly and humiliated."

That means any "swift attack" will be done gently like with water ballons and paint ball guns.........I guess!

LMAO

In one speach (sorry, absolutely no source to link to) I heard Kerry say he wishes to open a dialogue with the terrorists and tell them if they attack us swift actions will be taken in response.

I guess our current actions of finding them and capturing/killing as many as we can isn't a good thing. And here I thought it was a good way to deal with the problem.

Maybe a firm talking to would be better...

How about "time outs" for the terrorists? I am sure they would abide with the rules as laid down by JfK!

Are there any Kerry fans that wish to translate this for us?

I am sure his position has changed since this statement, or he will deny ever making it!

I think he said "thoughtful", among many of his descriptive terms that also included quicker, smarter & cheaper (although in an earlier speech he chastized Bush for trying to fight a war "on the cheap"). Lots of buzzwords that sound really cute. But when asked what he'd do specifically, he said he wouldn't say until he gets into the White House. So whatever is so good for the country that he knows right now as a Congressman, he's going to hold it back until IF he gets into the White House.

God Help us and JfK will never be President! He will not remember which promise he made and when and will resort to saying "that was taken out of context...."
Herman Munster is the worst, very worst candidate the Demcorats have ever graced us with! This is pretty extreme as I know Algore was pretty bad, and others fall way short of Kerry!

Charlie,

- based on on one of your comments here, I'm assured that it's not a "cut & paste politics" posing - and a part of me things that I may have met you before in a previous post .... glad to see your true point of view in either case.

- Jimmy

To bad no one replied to the translation of a gentle war on terrorism. I’m not looking to attack who ever responds… I’m genuinely curious what this means.

Sylance - I don't recall the world "gentle" being used in any of the stuff I heard last week. "Thoughtful" was the closest thing to gentle that I can remember.

And you'll never hear me defending the guy, no matter what was said. It's all just rhetoric to try and gain the White House.

Sorry... confused 'gentle' with 'sensative'...

I believe I can fight a more effective, more thoughtful, more strategic, more proactive, more sensitive war on terror that reaches out to other nations and brings them to our side and lives up to American values in history.
