man, oh, man... dave (homebrew) picked a heck of a time to take his first vacation and go to jamaica! :P

he's safe, i'm sure, but i'll bet he's ticked off at not being able to smoke out on the beach!

"Charley grew to hurricane strength around midday Wednesday before spinning by Jamaica. A few rooftops were reported damaged in the capital of Kingston, where residents rushed to supermarkets to buy bottled water, flashlights and other emergency items before the storm hit. The country's main airports were shut down and cruise lines were diverted."

Yeah and I seem to be right in the way. Looks like it will be a rough one. My mother had to leave her home and is with us further inland. Looks like it is going to come right through us. Keep you fingers crossed for us.

I want to see him firing up one with a torch while the trees are bent over in the background. He can sell it to the manufacturer of the torch.

Well I hate to be the one to say it, but they do have seasons for these things. I went to the BVI in April 2001 and had great weather, but I did my research.

Hope you're alright, Dave.

Well, the damn thing turned east and missed the Tampa area. We were prepared for it and end up with light rain showers all afternoon. It is still churning through the center of the state. Catagory 4 at landfall. Headed towards Orlando @115 MPH gusts. Glad it missed us but I pray for all those in danger tonight. I do feel relieved and very lucky.

well, i've got a punch double corona ready. charley's coming to the carolinas now after heading out to sea and looping back up north. should only be a category 1 hurricane, but we've battened down the hatches just in case.
