The well-known skeptic and author once said of Christians:

"It will be conceded that a Christian's first duty is to God. It then follows, as a matter of course, that it is his duty to carry his Christian code of morals to the polls and vote them. Whenever he shall do that, he will not find himself voting for an unclean man, a dishonest man. If Christians would vote their duty to God at the polls, they would carry every election, and do it with ease. Their prodigious power would be quickly realized and recognized, and afterward there would be no unclean candidates upon any ticket, and graft would cease. If the Christians of America could be persuaded to vote God and a clean ticket, it would bring about a moral revolution that would be incalculably beneficent. It would save the country."
(Colliers magazine, September 2, 1904)

Now, bassdude... Is that nice? My wife would be very unhappy LOL.

We have a lot of interesting discussions because I tend to lean Republican, and she is definately a Democrat! LOL

Hell if Kerry followed this he would not be a Democrat.

My wife comes from a family of Catholic Democrats - cause Daddy was union. She is the only free thinker in her family that did not bowdown to the union rote. As myeslef she claims no party. We vote for whom best represents us and we do not always agree.

Hey Russell,
I thought that was Twain.
Problem is, if we voted for someone who practiced what they preached, we would all be home on election day, as there is no such thing as a politician with morals. LOL

Mark Twain, a great cigar smoker!

I vote for the man as well, just happens to be all Republicans lately! Gotta say, I might vote for Obama if I were in Illinois!

Charlie, I think Obama is going to get dried off behind the ears a bit with Keyes... I'm looking forward to these debates and this Senate Race...
