I figured this was a safe place to visit while I watched the match on tape. I guess I was wrong.

That has always been the great thing about soccer. You could do whatever you wanted and you would not hear or see a result . Maybe the sport is finally coming around a bit.

Yes, but watch out for that young Brazilian team in the future,,,,all of their players are 19 to 21.

MAC, I said a bit and yes it is football time again.
Charlie, Now that the fab five or whatever they are called are retiring we are looking at a very young team in the US also.

Given Brazil's soccer history, that must make citizens of Rio feel a bit like we here in the US do right about now after losing in basketball ...

Steve,
One difference, the Brazilians couldn't give a rip about womens soccer, kind of like us (or me anyway) with womens Bball. The US has dominated for so long in soccer mainly due to title 9. The reason the competition is getting better internationally is the now defunct WUSA and they all play at American Universities.

Given the style of play in the NBA, it's not all that easy giving a rip about professional basketball in this country for that matter ... and it's a lot less than surprising that TeamUSA was so badly thrashed ...
