If you went to your favorite retailer and the cashier started whining about the recent changes in the labor standards and how he was no longer getting overtime pay and on top of that his insurance premiums were going up 10 percent. Then goes into a tirade about how the republicans are screwing everyone in the country. He continues to pelt you with verbal assaults on the presidents foreign policy and global warming. All the while, he's holding your loaf of bread hostage in his hand and hasn't scanned any of your groceries. He's wasting your time and forcing you to listen to his "free speech". How long do you stand there before you tell the guy to shut the "F" up and check your groceries so you can go home and smoke a cigar and cook some steaks on the grill?
That's how I feel about anyone who wants to spout off political rhetoric at work. I don't care if they're entertainers or engineers. If you're at work and you're providing a service to a customer, keep your politics to yourself. If you and your buddy want to talk politics back in the stockroom on your break, knock yourself out.
