Truth is incontrovertible; malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it; but, in the end; there it is.

Gene, I am not disputing the veracity of his posts, merely stating that I don't come to a CIGAR forum to see 6 posts in a row about politics.

Frankly, I am very tired of it. Some will say; "Then don't read them". But I say it takes valuable space away from frivilous and meaningless posts that are FUN to read and that don't start arguments. ;-)

MACS(SW),

Understood, I felt the same way about some of Rick's posts, but this is the "Miscellaneous" Forum.

plabonte makes a good point, did you send this request to Rick?

It is one thing to post something that is political and funny or insightful or interesting but most of the political threads in this forum are just "agree with me or you are an idiot" posts. MACS is 100% correct in his view. Too much BS is too much.

You know, the Politics board never *really* went away. It is just hidden now.

http://www.cigarbid.com/...forum.cfm?forumSelect=5

Hopefully, the CBID folks will recognize the need to bring that forum back. I think anyone should be able to post anything they want. However, all the political copy/pasting has muddied the Misc board to the point where it is no longer Misc. It pretty much has become the Politics board. No one person is responsible for this. I guess it is just a popular subject.

When the volume of posts gets that high about a particular subject, maybe it is time to create a dedicated space for it. Then, the Misc board can go back to truely being "Miscellaneous".

Just my .02.

Don't get me wrong guys... Hog is a stand up guy in my book. I got no beef with him, really.

It just so happened that when I logged in... there it was... 6 posts in a row, by him, about politics.

I needed to express my feelings and I did. Hog is free to post what he pleases, his 1st amendment rights were never in question. It was a request and I even said PLEASE.

But come to think of it, maybe he WAS playing devil's advocate to Rick's posts! Either way, I still don't care to read them and I won't. I'll just sift through the BS to the posts I find more interesting.

Note to C-bid... we need a politics forum.

Well Said puskarich....

This is the ONLY Forum I have posted and rebuttled Politics... it dates back to early 2000....

Macs.. I will refrain from posting anymore threads.. But I will remain posting to already live/active Threads...

I myself see the Misc. Board as a crutial part of CBids Forums and the group...

But I also see a need to help get the word out where some do not have the option of surfing or catching all the news on the goings ons or not goings on for that matter.... there are important issue's I feel need be addressed and one of them is for a Commander and Chief that will do his Job for the Better of my Fellow Veterans as yourself.. and also the people of these United States...

I hope this compromise is justifiable and appealing to you...

But I shouldn't be the only one singled out here....

Didn't mean to single you out, bro. Like I said, I logged in and there they were... 6 in a row!!

My point was in fun, it was supposed to be a parody on your posts, but I apologize if you feel attacked. That wasn't my intention.

No compromise needed. You do as you see fit. I was just bitching, and trying to be funny at the same time.

Yo Hog:

Main Entry: mis·cel·la·neous
Pronunciation: "mi-s&-'lA-nE-&s, -ny&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin miscellaneus, from miscellus mixed
1 : consisting of diverse things or members : HETEROGENEOUS
2 a : having various traits b : dealing with or interested in diverse subjects.

Yo Hog:

I for one enjoy reading your posts. You fought the good fight while in the military, why cave-in so easy as a civilian. Post away Brother, that's what this forum is all about.

Lets not blow this way out of proportion. I was bitchin' and hog was being a gentleman by offering a compromise that wasn't really necessary.

Yes, I am sick of political threads, but this thread was meant as a jest. Nothing more. Not an attack.

Sheesh.

I'm going to try to stick to one thread to help clean up some of the Misc board until Gonz and others come up with another format and I was in your shoes not to long ago Bro...

God Bless You and Your Shipmates and All our Armed Forces Men and Women Around the World... Kickin Ass so I don't have toooooo!!!!!!!!

and Charlie 99% of the time I am sitting back posting to others LMAO.... Although a Cushman isn't a bad Idea... I'm out from the Saddle of a Harley right now.. but soon I will give it another shot...

I, for one can't wait 'til there's a "Political" forum.

I used to get into these arguments on here a bit, but I now prefer to just have fun and stay out of it. Few, if any minds have been changed here.

I often discuss politics with my guitar player over a cigar (for me, he doesn't smoke, he just drinks) a shot and beer. Though we're both Liberatarians, I tend to play devil's advocate to stir the pot. It can get heated, but never negative. And we both end up laughing at the end of each topic.

I think when you take away the up close and personal like in a forum such as this, you open things up to get a lot more heated vs. friendly disagreement.

Then again, maybe you're all just jerks. { =^ )

Whatever floats your boat, I guess. (That's the Liberatarian Mantra BTW)

Well said Hog!! Your passion displayed during your political posts is commendable. I agree with some of your points and some times I disagree. That is what discussions are all about.

MACS - Stay cool and smoke a PSD4 for me!!

MACS - Jesus, your up late. What are you @ about GMT +8 hours? I guess you are used to it being in the service. I can't function on anything less than about 5-6 hours of sleep a night.

Hog, we are brothers in arms. Post away dude because I was goofin' on you. Besides... i'm an E-8 bro, I don't share my computer, or my tiny office. ;-)

Buckwheat - Too hot outside to smoke. I haven't had but maybe 3-4 cigars in the last 5 weeks. You'll be able to smoke your own PSD4 in no time. :-)
