I'd heard a question posed on the radio the other day and thought it odd the way the question was phrased ... what, the announcer asked, would you do with the ball if you were the one to catch Barry's 700th HR ... keep it as a souvenier, give it to the HoF, sell it on eBay or give it to Barry to whom it rightfully belongs ??

Rightfully belongs ????? WTF is THAT about, I asked the radio as if the announcer could hear me ... how could THAT be? ... then, this morning on SI, I see that same poll (without the word rightfully) and as one might imagine, half would sell it, but surprisingly, some 30% would give it to Barry ... quite a few would keep it and only 1 in 15 gave the answer I did ... give it to the HoF.

How 'bout you? ... what would YOU have done with it?

I was disapointed...once.

Good question....I would probably give it to my griend who is a huge giants fan...but the temptation to just throw it back like I do any opposing player who hits a homerun would be very great. That would really be something. Imagine getting a ball that could potentially be worth thousands of dollars, and just throwing it back out of spite...that would be way too tempting

Hitting 700 HRs is such a great accomplishment, I's show him the honor by giving the ball back. For those who believe that the achievement is due to steroids, I respectfully suggest that you are mistaken - Bonds has great hands/eye coordination and has learned to swing only at balls he can hit. He may be the greatest player, excluding his personality, of all time.
