Christ, I love politics, these guys have no pretension of scruples. With my tongue in my cheek I suggested exactly this in Hog's "STATEMENT FROM DAN RATHER" thread. I was playing Devil's advocate, these clowns actually are trying to pull it off. This is classic stuff!

MCAULIFFE: WILL GOP ANSWER IF THEY KNOW WHETHER STONE, OTHERS HAD INVOLVEMENT WITH CBS DOCUMENTS?

Washington, D.C. - In response to false Republican accusations regarding the CBS documents, Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe issued this statement:

“In today’s New York Post, Roger Stone, who became associated with political ‘dirty tricks’ while working for Nixon, refused to deny that he was the source the CBS documents.

“Will Ed Gillespie or the White House admit today what they know about Mr. Stone’s relationship with these forged documents? Will they unequivocally rule out Mr. Stone’s involvement? Or for that matter, others with a known history of dirty tricks, such as Karl Rove or Ralph Reed?”

Paid for and authorized by the Democratic National Committee, www.democrats.org. This communication is not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

Oh, I heard oinklings of this the first day the documents were questioned! That's why I jumped back at you so hard when you suggested it! The same as Kerry already asking the FEC about recount options! Casting aspirsions before the other side even has an opportunity to do anything, questionable or not, just to call anything they do into question. Like the no-win situation they created for Bush with all the chatter about an October Surprise! If Osamas caught, they'll say "see, we told you!" and if not they'll crucify Bush for not catching him, and ignore the false accusations they made earlier! These do-nothing, forever chattering like a pack of rabid monkey Democrats are turning my stomach! And seeing as how I eat Navy chow, that's saying something!
