Another unfortunate example of what not to do on a sportbike. I can not believe this was put out by a motorcycle manufacturer. It will require broadband.

This crap is HUGE around here all of a sudden. . . . I don't know if it's because of movies, or tv or what, but in the past year, every punk kid with a crotch rocket around here has this uncontrollable urge to do wheelies at 80 mph standing up. . . . . They're doing their best to thin out the herd - last month one got killed when he dropped his front wheel at 80, got wobbly in the front, and launched himself off. . . . but, they still do it. . . . drive around, and on a daily basis you'll see them doing standing wheelies going between cars, or standing on their seat doing an Indian Larry imitation. . . . . I worked on a pitcrew for a roadracer and have seen more than my share of racers getting killed right in front of me, I can only imagine what these kids are thinking. . . .

It mis-represents the 98% of us who like to ride hard, but safe.

Yep. I D I O T. For whatever reason, I couldn't view it, but by the posts, I get the idea. I suppose he wasn't wearing a helmet either. (I just had to put that ;)

Yeah, for a while I was seeing that crap all over the DFW area. I've seen some dude weaving through traffic -- rush hour traffic -- on one wheel. What really bothers me is the lack of concern for the others on the road. I don't care if he kills himself. He should know better than to do that crap in traffic. The problem is that there's no telling what that bike is going to do if he goes down at 80 MPH. He could cause an accident resulting in the death of somebody's mom, dad, or child. Does he care? Obviously, not.

You should care. Who do you think foots the $300,000 medical bill he racks up trying to put him back together in the ER. That's why I support helmet laws.

tornado,
good point, but ducati has a good point too. it's their choice to kill themselves quickly just as it is our choice to kill ourselves slowly. i just hope they have the insurance to cover their lack of better judgement. i do.
