I know there are many vets here, can anyone tell me if this is fake or not, are they really blocking out websites on the base??
I am a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Clinton was my first Commander In Chief, and now Bush is it. During the 2000 election, I noticed that 98% of my unit was anti-Clinton and pro-anyone republican. I have never voted republican so I of course was going to vote for Gore in 2000. I saw Bush as being an imbecile then, and he is an even bigger one in my eyes now.
I was in the war during the bombing campaign in the first four months, and I was very proud of what I was doing. Now that I have been home for quite a while, I am hard set againsed the war. When I was a part of it, quite obviously I was brain washed by my commander in chief into thinking that Saddam was going to attack us by means of weapons of mass destruction. So there I was, ordered to drop an obscene amount of bombs pre-emptively on Iraq, and proud to do so. Now quite obviously my commander in chief was exploiting what I signed up to do for a living. And exploiting what my sister services do for a living. I belive we are in this for all the wrong reasons, and two of my friends lost thier lives because of it.
So now I have the opportunity to vote out my commander in chief. The Air Force has been promoting voting from the get go, and really wants all of us airmen to partake in our right to do so. However, they are very Anti-Kerry, and Anti-Democrat. And here they are saying how important it is that we have the right to vote for our boss. Ever since I have made it known in my squadron that I am voting for John Kerry, I have been shunned, not invited to squadron functions, ridiculed, and not promoted. When using the government computers, I frequently visit cnn.com to get the latest on political news. Well guess what, the Air Force at my base has filtered out any website that has anything to do with politics or religion. That is including johnkerry.com. But here is the kicker. I can log onto georgebush.com as much as I like. I have even been ordered to remove the John Kerry Sticker off of my vehicle.
I love the Air Force, I love my country, and I love my job. I am extremely disappointed in those who are pretty much ordering me to vote thier way. The military is brain washing its members to vote thier way.
