should just move to another country. he seems to hate this country. he hates the administration. he considers the recent election to be an absolute disaster. he doesn't seem to respect the military and its views, and it's the military that insures the freedom he so enjoys.

rick, i don't know you. i do know that you have a very arrogant attitude on these boards, and you seem to despise the current administration. you say a lot of things as though they are fact, but you have problems substantiating them. you arrogantly put down opinions that are contrary to your own. i know there are a lot of people that disagree with me, but i try to respect their side as well. i sometimes fail, but at least i try. heck, there are all kinds of discussions here with opposing viewpoints, but no one here is anywhere near as condescending as you. we have many people here that go back and forth everyday about politics. nobody really seems to be a political plague on the board except you. you stick out like a sore thumb.

if you're too good for this country, leave. if you deserve more than the government and its people are providing, go wherever you can to get what you feel you are owed. my tolerance is at an end with your attitude. i would not be hurt to never see a politically motivated post by you again. in fact, i think these boards might be a better place w/o your political garbage. i have no problem at all with your other posts. you seem to be a friendly person for the most part. it's the arrogance and lack of respect for the country that is infuriating.

sorry, i just had to get that out. i feel better know. maybe i'm the one that should just stop reading the forum.

Lofty..Very nicely put. If Rick or anyone else does not like this country they are free to leave but I do think that most of the people like Rick like to complain because they like the attention that it gets them. Rick I do not know you , I do realize that in America you do have the freedom to express your opinions because that is what we can do in a free country. If you do not like the way things are done here please leave . I do not agree with everyone here all the time but I do realize that is what makes America great we are allowed to have a difference of opinion. Rick you realy do cross the line many times. I am not here to take your inventory ...Just my opinion.

i'm glad to see you speak your mind, and i am not being sarcastic.

"should just move to another country." why, i love this country. i speak my mind to protect it.

"he doesn't seem to respect the military" where did you get that nonsense.

"i do know that you have a very arrogant attitude on these boards" it comes with the territory.

"political plague" ? are you getting a cold or a fever, or blisters on your arm. bad simili.

"you stick out like a sore thumb." that is by design.

"i think these boards might be a better place w/o your political garbage." you would find a bunch of guys like charlie and JonR sitting around agreeing with each other, along with many others, and eventually they would get bored with each other.

"i have no problem at all with your other posts. you seem to be a friendly person for the most part" sans politics, i am an easy going guy who plays with birds, goes to vegas two or three times a month for a few weeks at a time and plays nickle slots.

"it's the arrogance and lack of respect for the country that is infuriating." i have already mentioned my love for my country, my arrogance is my arrogance, and it relates to politics only.

"maybe i'm the one that should just stop reading the forum." and miss all the fun and excitement. stick around and think of it as the performance it is.

"I do realize that in America you do have the freedom to express your opinions because that is what we can do in a free country. If you do not like the way things are done here please leave." you do need to make up your mind.

i'll draw my own line if you don't mind.

Rick I do respect your opinion but you are really sounding like the crochety old man that as kids everybody would be afraid to go in his yard when the ball would be hit over the fence. Life is much to short to be so crochety. Lightin up. You will find life is not as bad as you make it.

on another thread uncleb writes:

I will definitley recongnize GW as the POTUSA. He was voted in fair and square, no question. I will still question decisions that I do not agree with but he the President of my country and as such, gets my support.

to me, this is respectful. he disagrees with the policies of the administration, but declares it respectfully. this is a civil disagreement concerning politics. i agree with many decisions of the president that uncleb may find disturbing or misguided. he is not malicious. he is not arrogant. he is not condescending. i respect and welcome such opinions. i'm not looking for perfect harmony and agreement. i don't think anyone here is. i think we all just would prefer a little respect concerning our political discussions. does that make more sense?

Commom Lofty, tell me you don't secretly giggle when JonR and Rickamaven mix it up...

IMHO, it's botls like them (and Bassdude, Hog, Chipslave, Delta, LLT, EI, Lizard, X, Steve, Slim, Pablo, our beloved Cavallo, Rasta, Wolf, MACS, Kazama, DrM, Charlie, CigarPrimate, Thurson, DrJothen, CW, DapperDan, UncleB and several others) that MAKE this forum.

Otherwise, it would be dull like the Cigar Weekly sandbox. LOL

Buenas noches!

Lofty- Thank you for speakly so kindly of me.

I think most of you are taking Rick a little to seriously. He has said it more than once in numerous posts... he is performing. He makes his political posts with the sole purpose of eliciting a strong response... one way or another. Most of the political posters on this forum do the same thing to a certain extent. Sometimes the line gets stepped over (maybe a little more often by Rick). Politics brings that out in just about everyone.

As for the suggestion that he leave the country, that's absurd!!! Like any of us has the right to tell another American to leave this country (illegal aliens-yes we have the right).

One thing I must give Myop-Rick credit for is he picks his battles wisely. He obviously is never willing to do battle with someone who is obviously intellectually superior or has the ability to have an open mind.

BTW Myop-Rick, Dubya's your Daddy!

where were you when i was called a piece of ****, **** you (from marla), and a few other things designed not to disagree with my point of view, but to personally insult me, or at least attempt to.

i looked around, but i must have missed you. where were you?

obviously "intellectually superior or has the ability to have an open mind." people are able to read what i write and laugh, agree, or disagree. we don't do battle.

speaking of myopia, the lasik surgery i had to correct that problem about 3 weeks ago is improving my vision dramatically, day by day. soon you will have to find something different to call me.

may you too outlive your heart and your eyes, and may you be as lucky as i am to find doctors capable of correcting the problems you will face.

we mock the things we are to be.

i missed marla's "**** you", unfortunately, but i caught you being called a piece of ****. in fact, that was the "straw", so to speak, that inspired me to write my post. simply put, you asked for it. you beg for it all the time. it's as though you try to make people mad. i see the fun and entertainment value in simple teasing, but seem to want to make folks' blood truly boil. why would anyone deliberately attempt to be hated?

uncleb, i never said that rick should actually leave. well, i never really meant to. i merely proposed that if he hates this government, military, and really the whole country as much as he disrespects it, perhaps leaving would be best for him. it's really more of a suggestion to him to solve a problem he seems to have. kind of like, if you don't like his posts, don't read them. hmmm, i could be on to something there.

I agree, for RICKAMAVEN, this forum is just a tool he uses to get the attention he apparently so desperately needs and lacks in his life.

Perhaps these forums ARE HIS LIFE!

Either that, or he seriously needs some psychological help to address his rage and anger.

Lofty do what I do. Anytime you see a post authored by Rickmaven skip over it as you know it isn't going to contain anything remotely useful, entertaining, or informative. If its a thread started by Rick don't bother opening it. I started doing this awhile ago and found that it works quite well.

Wait a minute. Let's cut through all this BS and get to something important. Rick said he goes to Vegas two or three times a MONTH and stays for a FEW WEEKS each time.

Don't you REALLY mean that you live in Vegas and leave on occasional weekends?

mistype. two or three times a YEAR. when we sold toby's ten year old caddy it had less then 45000 miles. that was the car we used to drive to vegas, her new scion 4 months old, has just turned 1000 miles. all the caddiy's ,ilage was on I-15 north and south.

the scion is good for around town, but we will now put some milageon my 95 LHS that has just turned 44,000 miles.

it's a shame the price of gas is about the cost of milk now, but i'm lucky, i use so little, it's not a big expense or me.

when you try to piss people off, you should expect them to respond with anger. if you don't, you're just being unrealistic. of course, most of your points seem to be just that. it's amazing how many similarites there are between you and moore. it's no wonder you're both hated. you're both very one-sided. you both act as though you have pure intentions when you really strive to anger the opposition. when you've achieved your goal your behavior is:

"what? what did i do? why are you so angry with me? i just brought up an idea or asked a question. why would you be so mad at me?"

it's a truly pathetic m.o. it's infuriating and cowardly because it avoids real two-way discussions while jabbing at the opposition.

ahhh you elicit response.

No, you crossed a line with me just like Pajama did with you. It has been years since I have put anyone on the floor.

My advice think before you post. There are things that set us off just like knocking your wife does to you. I honestly thought Toby was a man also. I would just never stoop that low. And by letting onto that you have shown everyone how to get to you. Perhaps we should all have you banned for your comments and pictures.

nuff said.

What Bloody said. This would be one sorry, boring place without the diverse opinions. We're all allowed to have these opinions without fear of someone kicking down the door and shooting our entire family. Remember we DO all agree on one thing - we love cigars, which is what brought us here in the first place. Cigars - apolitical - the real uniters.

I have been reading this board for about 3 years, and Rick was one of the more interesting contributors, and at that time, did not suffer from the problems he is having now. However, also at that time, there were not so many people who spoke out right-wing and religious extremeists. It seems that the lop-sided politics of late, had just gotten under his skin, and he is compelled to offer an opposing view, and it is is weighted to an extreme, to bring the view back into balance. If more of the more moderate liberals would speak up from time-to-time, like cigarprimate has been doing lately, then maybe Rick would not be going over the top all the time.

Glad to see someone SMART reads my jabberins'.

BTW, I don't think that Bass would knock Rick down.

Unbenowngst to all, Bass has been ordained in the latest cult of BesaCulo. He is now a proponent of aggressive passiveness and shaves his back--keys to temporal happiness.

Besides, Rick can incapacitate anyone below the knees with uppercuts. Bass would never walk the same...
